Chapter 536 - A fashionable Ryn (1/2)
The Dowager was talking with her daughter-in-law when the couple entered the room.
”Good morning, grandmother, father, and mother,” Jeremy greeted politely.
”Good morning, Dowager Long, Mr Long, and Mrs Long,” Ryn greeted politely. She followed Jeremy to an empty seat.
”Catherine, you've come,” Mrs Long said cheerfully. She knew the younger woman would come here first in order to park her car. While they were gone, the driver would make sure the cars got started regularly. Of course, behind Ryn's knowledge, the driver would also send her car to a workshop for a simple renovation. Not that obvious. As the car's name was white, they would not change the colour. They would only change the engine and eliminate all the risk of danger. Anti bullet, anti-bomb, and all that sort of things for the car. Even if, God forbid, she was in an accident, the safety level in the car would keep her safe from any heavy injury.
The maids quickly came in bringing breakfast for the couple. Ryn and Jeremy thanked them and started to eat their breakfast.
They ate their breakfast peacefully. The family did not talk much during meal unless there was something they had to discuss but had no other suitable time to do it.
”You didn't tell me you're here,” Mika's cry hit them first before she came rushing into the room.
”Mika, don't run in the room,” the Dowager said with a frown. She always reminded all her family members, especially the female family members. Sophisticated, calm, and ladylike. But it seemed like her granddaughter, being as spoiled as she was, sometimes forgot to remember the teaching.
”Good morning, grandmother,” Mika, giggling, hugged and kissed Dowager's cheek. And then she went to hug and kiss her mother and father. The elders chuckled seeing her acting like a spoiled little girl.
Ryn lifted her head and looked at her best friend when Mika quickly went to sit beside her. ”Just woke up?”
”Hmm... Why didn't you call me when you're coming?” Mika asked before she thanked the maid who placed her breakfast on the table.
”Ask your brother,” Ryn handed the responsibility to answer to her boyfriend, Jeremy.
Jeremy cleared his throat and took a sip of his orange juice. He even took out his phone and pretended to be absorbed reading the news.
Mika rolled her eyes at her brother before looking back at Ryn.
”You are wearing these for the trip?” she asked with a frown. Of course, she understood her best friend's taste in fashion. Simplicity was Ryn's favourite theme. But, sometimes she hoped that Ryn would agree for her to style Ryn's fashion so whenever paparazzi or fans took her pictures, she would look classy and proper. She would look fashionable.
Ryn just smiled. It was the answer to the question. Short and simple.
Mika was about to speak when she noticed the warning look from her mother. She cancelled the thought and pouted instead. She looked down and started to eat her breakfast.
Ryn chuckled to see the pout and rubbed Mika's head gently. She then continued to eat her food, not wanting any of them to lose their warmth. The deliciousness would lose when the food got colder.
”Your little sister, that is the one getting married,” Mr Long commented dryly as he shook his head in bemused. His little princess was getting married but still retained childishness and innocent. How he wished he could keep her for several more years but he knew Jason and his daughter have been waiting for years to be married. Besides, without his little daughter, he could spend more meaningful time with his lovely wife. His son would soon follow the footstep of his daughter and would be married as well with Catherine. And his mother, once she was done with all the wedding, would surely go have her vacation somewhere or go to any temple. His mother loved to go to a temple to pray and in her words, to get closer to her late husband.
”Hmm... starting tomorrow she's going to be Jason's mess to handle,” Jeremy replied as he reached for another cup of coffee. He needed more caffeine to stay awake so he could deal with some files while waiting for the time to leave.
