Chapter 504 - What went wrong in their relationship? (1/2)

Ryn walked to the dressing table after she put on a pair of shirt and shorts. She also put on a sweat shirt. She took off the towel wrapped around her head and reached for the hair dryer.

She crossed her legs and started drying her hair. She glanced at her ringing phone but did not make a move to take it. She kept drying her hair until not one piece of hair left wet. She left her hair just like that and stood up.

She was just getting a glass of water before she remembered about her phone. She continued her walk to the kitchen to get her water before returned to get her phone as she sipped her drink calmly. She did not blink when she saw the amount of missing calls. She had no mood to do anything regarding the call.

It was not important anyway.

Instead of going back to her bedroom, she went straight to the balcony, holding both her phone and a glass filled with cold water. She should be hungry by now but she had no appetite. She was confused. This 'war' was so sudden that she had no idea what she did wrong to face this. He was so… emotional that made him look more like a kid throwing tantrum. Where was the boy she fell in love with? She remembered how cool and level-headed Jeremy was when they were in school that it attracted her to him. She did not like this desperate and temper version of him. It even reminded her on those times before they broke up.

She adjusted her sitting position and wrapped her knees close to her ċhėst. She was so exhausted. Her mental was exhausted trying to deal with Jeremy's emotional tantrum. She closed her eyes and tried not to think more. It would only make her more stressful when she could not think of any solution, well, other than breaking up with him for good.

She still loved him to break their relationship apart.

Was this a curse for her? A trial?

She sighed heavily.

She frowned.

They were having fun with their dinner despite the awkwardness. She told him good night but he made his way into her place without invitation and without her own knowledge.

The morning after it seemed like everything went wrong. He suddenly threw tantrum and accused her of kicking him out when she did no such… err… she did lock the door before she went to sleep. It was almost like an automatic habit she had as she slept a lot in hotels alone and she was protecting herself.

And the habit was hard to stop even in her own house where she knew inside her mind and her heart that this was her safe haven.

She looked at her phone and sighed at the so many missed calls. She did not plan to answer them yet. She needed to do something first.

Instead of calling, she used the apps to quickly type a word ”sorry” and before she lost her composure, she clicked the send buŧŧon to send it to him.

She put it down and looked at the scene in front of her as she took a deep breath to calm down. She realized that even she had trouble to say sorry to him.

She guessed when she said both of them have ego and it was one of the reasons behind their breaking up that time, she was right. It was hard to even type that word and she knew she waited more to think of words to say, she would change her mind and put it aside and lastly ignored it altogether.

She had the habit of ignoring things she hated to deal with and she guessed saying sorry was one of those things she hated to do.

She buried her head on her knees and tried to calm down. She did that, didn't she?

She spent a few more minutes there before she stood up and went to the living room with her phone and the empty glass.

She put the glass on the coffee table and leaned comfortably on the couch. She even folded her long legs and tied her hair into a messy bun.

She took back her phone and started to check the misscalled. And it came from two people actually.

She started with the one she was not that close with just to get it over with. She dialled the number and waited for the call to be answered.

It did not take long for her to wait, though. It was as if the person was waiting for her call when it did not take a second ring before the person answered the call.

”Hello, Ryn.”

”Hello,” she greeted back. She changed her position to lie across the couch. She even crossed her feet just to be more comfortable.

”I guess you're wondering why I was calling, aren't you?” He asked with a nervous chuckle. He was excited when he saw her name displayed on the screen. He even took a deep breath before he answered the call and even until now, his heart was pounding hard. He was nervous actually.

”Yeah,” she replied shortly.

”Well...” he paused. His brain was working hard to make up a sensible and logic sentence so she would not have the chance to refuse his invitation.
