Chapter 174 - Must follow the script (1/2)
On the same morning, in an apartment in the middle of the city, Jennifer woke up with a huge smile on her face. Yesterday her manager contacted the show directly and suggested for them to interview Jennifer regarding the scandal. Her manager even reassured the production that the show would be the main focus of all netizen. Everyone wanted to know the story behind the scandal, wouldn't they?
And they were right.
The rating was so high the producers could not stop from grinning from ear to ear.
From the start until the end, every viewer watching the show did not change the channel. In fact, the viewers were more and more watching it.
Hence, when she was done with the show and got home, she received a lot of messages from her fans and even new fans who felt sorry for her. They encouraged her to stay strong and should believe that her love was true and soon Jeremy found realize who really loved him. Some even encouraged her to find someone new. Someone who would appreciate her love and her heart.
She went to sleep with a huge smile on her face.
For two years she waited for him to make his move.
For two years she waited for him to confess his feeling toward her.
For two years she waited for him to announce his feeling to her for the whole world to know.
But nothing. He did not do anything at all.
However, she did not give up. It did not lower down her expectation or her enthusiasm. She still believed that one day he would acknowledge his real feeling. He would realize the perfect woman to share his life, for the rest of his life, was her. Only her. Jennifer Lin.
So when she heard Jeremy would make a press conference this morning, she was happy. No doubt, in order to maintain his good name, he would obviously apologize for his mean attitude toward her and personally would announce that they are in a relationship. She believed he would not do otherwise. His career was depended on it!
She had pushed him to the corner and he must follow the script!
She sat on the couch with a mug of coffee on the coffee table. A bowl of oatmeal with a scoop of almond butter and some fruits next to the mug. She quickly turned on the television to watch the press conference. A huge smile was on her face.
Her manager was sitting on another couch, smiling as well. Once the press conference finished, she would bring Jennifer to a mall for a dress shopping. Of course, she would contact some of the paparazzi she closed with to 'accidentally' bump into Jennifer and take photos of her shopping her dress for a romantic dinner with Jeremy.
Everything was planned perfectly.
Both pairs of eyes watched the press conference with building excitement and interest.
Jennifer's hands shook and her face changed as she watched the conference.
Jeremy dared to deny their relationship, even demeaning her worth.
Was she ugly in his eyes? Was she unsuitable to be with him?
No. She was the only woman suitable for him. She is beautiful, active in charity and her status is on par with him.
She was about to lash out about him angrily at her manager when Jeremy's lawyer started to speak. She paused, wondering why a lawyer was speaking during the conference.
”They... they want to sue me...?” she choked out.
”I... I will check about this,” her manager choked out and started to call someone.
Jennifer ignored her manager. Her eyes were glued on the television. Her body shook in anger. How dared... how dare they suing her. Who do they think they are to do such a thing to her?
”Jen, I just got back from the office. They just receive the letter from the law company,” her manager choked out nervously.
”Wh... what?” Jennifer's face paled.
*~*~*~*
Ryn leaned back and closed her eyes. She was tired. She did not even realize how tense she was during the press conference. She almost stumbled when she walked out of the hall. Luckily for her, Jeremy was there to catch her.
”Do you want to go straight Mika after the meal?” Jeremy asked.
They were now in a private room in a restaurant. Harry ordered Ryn's favourite, smiling seeing the furrow on her face but she did not say anything. Even when the waiter left them in their room after the order, she simply leaned back to her chair and closed her eyes.
Jacob and the others did not disturb them. The lawyers went back to their office to proceed with the procedure. Jacob went back to the office to continue his work.
”Hmm...?” Ryn opened her eyes and looked at him.
”Do you want to go home first or go to the hospital to visit Mika?” Jeremy asked.
”Straight to the hospital,” she decided and closed back her eyes.
”Okay.”
She took the time for the food to be ready for a short nap. Fortunately for her, Jeremy did not start any conversation anymore, just leaving her alone. She opened back her eyes when she heard the door being opened. Her eyes sparkled at the sight of the waiters bringing food.
He smiled seeing how enthusiastic she was eating her food. So adorable even though she was the picture of corporate woman. In front of her favourite food and without the chain of work commitment, she just let loose and ate to her heart. Although she was hungry, she still ate tidily.
Both did not even check their phone during the meal. In fact, Jeremy even silent his phone even though he should do that. Ryn already silent her phone before the press conference. Mei Li would handle anything unexpected, especially after the press conference.
Ryn just wanted to clear her mind from any problem.
They spent there for almost an hour before he escorted her back to the car. The driver was already waiting for them at the entrance, even opening the door for them.
Jeremy sat next to her. He watched her making herself comfortable and smiled.
”What?”
”Nothing. How do you feel now?” he changed the topic quickly.
”Hmm... I'm not sure. I'm just hoping nothing else will happen,” she confessed. She was tired with this 'Jennifer' drama and wanted this to be done with and never appear again.
”Your class is tomorrow, right? Do you need any help?” he asked, just remembered that the weekdays were starting tomorrow. She would be busy with class and work again.
”No need. I can take the bus.”
