“The Wang Clan has one in their ancestral home,” Wei Liang said in a low voice.

Lin Jiu followed his words swiftly. “You should be careful on your trip to Cloud Water Song when finding Essence Strengthening Grass. Whether or not you will chance upon the Spirit Gathering Pearl all depends on the will of God. You can’t force it.”

Well, she knew that Wei Liang would definitely go and dig the Wang Clan to the bottom instead.

The surrounding disciples who were silently eavesdropping nodded their heads, thinking that this woman wasn’t as greedy and shameless as the rumors. It was possible that the gossip was misleading. If she really had been that greedy and insatiable, she would have forced the Sword Monarch to get the Spirit Gathering Pearl for her, so why would she so easily say that it couldn’t be forced?

The disciples’ approval rose a few notches when they looked at Lin Jiu.

Though the Wang Clan’s provocation at their gates was suppressed by the Sword Monarch’s might, the Thousand Divine Swords sect would still hold some grudges in their hearts. However, this woman’s quick talking managed to shut up the Wang Clan and made the disciples feel good. Even though many of the disciples disliked how Lin Jiu acted beneath her identity, they felt it was still rather nice to have someone do the deed while they stood and watched.

Wei Liang looked profoundly at Lin Jiu. “I shall go and return in a few days. Make preparations. I will help you form your core at my return,” he said in a level tone.

This man’s words could not be any more serious in the ears of outsiders. However, Lin Jiu knew Wei Liang well and easily saw through the bit of lust in his dark eyes.

This male lead really was… She had no words.

As soon as Wei Liang left, a high-pitched voice of a woman reached Lin Jiu’s ears.

You have to cast a long line to reel in the big fish like that, don’t you know? If I were her, I would also act like I didn’t want that Spirit Gathering Pearl! Only then will you be able to latch onto a man’s heart! Only idiots like you will fall for that. I’ve seen plenty of women like this in my life!”

The woman did not hold her voice back at all. Clearly, she wanted Lin Jiu to hear.

Lin Jiu didn’t care. Even though this woman harbored malice towards her, petty fights with her wouldn’t even bear enough malice to floss her teeth with. The Red Lotus couldn’t even be bothered to quiver a little, so naturally, Lin Jiu didn’t care about it either.

She threw her sleeves back and walked step by step back down the stone steps towards the main peak where Wei Liang resided.
