Chapter 8.2 - Sitting Cross-Legged (1/2)
Her meridians had already been thoroughly strengthened by the Dripstone Spiritual Milk. They were incomparably tough and glowed with a flowing seven-colored light, while the spiritual energy inside her meridians that originated from the Red Lotus in her consciousness were incomparably refined. But for some reason, the compatibility of the two energies was not very high. When examined closely, pale-colored transparent blockages could be found inside her meridians that caused the energies to twist and distort.

Lin Jiu’s eyes widened. “The Jade Heart Sutra is affecting the flow of spiritual energy. Is there any way to fix it?” she whispered to Wei Liang.
His face remained cool as he remained slightly over to her ear. When he spoke, his voice was dark. “I like…a softer body.”
Lin Jiu’s breathing stopped.
Then, she watched Wei Liang stand up with a cold look in his eyes. “Your foundation is set, and thus irreversible,” he said in a serious tone. It’s useless to have regrets of going astray now. From now on, remember to be diligent and you may be able to minimize the effects.”
Several nearby disciples of the Thousand Divine Swords sect nodded silently as if they had received a wise teaching.
Lin Jiu gazed at him, speechless.
She felt that she really had grown in knowledge. What number one righteous man? This person was a beast in human skin!
She shut her eyes and continued guiding the flow of her spiritual energy.
An abnormality appeared in the Red Lotus. The two petals were quivering faintly as if they were young birds waiting to be fed.
With that thought, Lin Jiu followed her instinct and tried to introduce a wisp of spiritual energy into the Red Lotus’ veins to feed it.
As soon as the spiritual energy touched the flower, Lin Jiu felt a profound sense of joy spread throughout her body from her consciousness. To describe it with an inappropriate analogy, it was like a newborn baby taking their first sip of milk.
“Could it be that nobody had ever tried to feed the Red Lotus with spiritual energy before?” Lin Jiu wondered in surprise.
She had no idea how hard it was for a cultivator to accumulate spiritual energy as an outsider. She tried to imagine it. After establishing a foundation, an ordinary person had to meditate for a week to accumulate just a tiny bit of spiritual energy, and during that whole week, they could not be disturbed by the slightest distractions. Once they got distracted, all that effort would be lost. Cultivating is a harsh road of enduring endless lonely hardships by yourself—And who would be willing to just casually use that bit of spiritual energy they spent so much energy to obtain so easily like her?
If anyone else could obtain the Red Lotus, then they would want for nothing more than to squeeze it dry. Who would throw money at such a thing?
But Lin Jiu was different. Her cultivation came free, as well as the Dripstone Spiritual Milk. Even Red Lotus’ spiritual aura came to her for nothing. It was hard for her to cherish something that came so easily.
But there was no way around it. Humans were inherently like this.
Lin Jiu led another wisp of spiritual energy into her consciousness.
The two lonely lotus petals trembled lightly like plants that had gone through a long drought, carefully distributing the energy throughout the whole petal.
Lin Jiu noticed that the petals that seemed to teeter around illusion and solid reality. At first they looked just like an ink drawing of a lotus drawn on the surface of water, as fragile as if they would disappear at any moment. But now, after receiving the nurturing of spiritual energy, the petals began to give off a metallic shine and texture.
Lin Jiu contemplated this new information. She knew that as long as she used her spiritual energy to materialize the Red Lotus’ petals, then it wouldn’t start to close up when she didn’t gather enough malice!
