Chapter 2.1 - Red Lotus (2/2)
At that moment, Lin Jiu discovered that human eyes could really talk. She saw her father’s expression turn devilish, telling her that if a few years in jail could get his son a house in the city, it would be worth it!
She died too quickly, and she hadn’t had the chance to tell these cruel people that she only paid the down payment, and they couldn’t pay for the installments!
Even so, she used her best friend’s live stream to record the whole incident: The father who wanted to kill her, the crying and complaining mother, the son that was spoiled by sexist parents… This family would be miserable like they were in Hell for the rest of their lives, until their very last breath!
Lin Jiu endured the excruciating pain of her organs ripping apart with an evil smile plastered on her face.
She never would have thought that death wasn’t the end. Her eyes closed, and when she opened them again, she discovered that she had transmigrated into one of the novels she had read before, and was sitting on a wedding bed with a red veil on her, her memories filled with the Lin Jiu’s.
What if…what if God thought that the position she was in when she didn’t fall to her death wasn’t right and wanted her to fall again?!
Lin Jiu looked at the massive chasm below. She sucked in a deep breath as she gripped the metal chains even tighter.
Hang in there. Those who had accomplished the intermediate basic level had stronger stamina than an ordinary person, so if she hung on long enough, the wind would stop sooner or later.
Lin Jiu completely calmed her mind. She closed her eyes as she felt the wind bat her helpless body. She would not die here, she would live a good life, better than anyone else.
Finally, the wind slowed down, and Lin Jiu tried to slowly pull herself up…
Her body tensed. A force was trying to pull her away from the metal chains.
Lin Jiu tightened her grip, her knuckles cracking from the effort.
“Let go,” she heard a voice say from above her.
“What?!” she cried. Lin Jiu tried her best to turn her neck to the side, then saw Wei Liang stepping on the wind with one hand on her waist, and his other hand behind him.
The colors around him seemed more defined—His red robe flapped with the wind, and his hair was a darker shade of black, making his face look even more pale.
Seeing that Lin Jiu was still reluctant to let go, Wei Liang raised his sleeves, and his long slender hands drew a clean arch and split the metal chain. It broke, and the long chain swayed past the big arch and dropped into the chasm. Lin Jiu was still holding on to a piece of chain in her hand as she fell in Wei Liang’s embrace. He flipped her over to make her face him.
“Why, don’t want me to leave your side for even a second?” Wei Liang said. His expression remained cold, but his tone sounded slightly playful.
