Chapter 2.2 - Red Lotus (1/2)

“I wanted to take a look and see if he had passed or not,” Lin Jiu sighed.

Wei Liang’s lips twitched as if he was about to speak, when he saw Liu Qing Yin with her blade approaching them.

Lin Jiu was completely locked in Wei Liang’s embrace. Her face was pale, the side of her eyes turned slightly red, and her hand tightly gripped the broken metal chin. It was an indescribable scene, both pitiful and heated at the same time.

Liu Qing Yin’s face was even more pale. She couldn’t keep her usual manner anymore and immediately came. Under the moonlight, Wei Liang’s eyes flashed a chilly smile. He casually rode through the wind, bringing Lin Jiu to Crane Hill where the eldest apprentice, Qing Yun Xi, lived. The place where he lived was not only beautiful, but also full of aura.

Lin Jiu immediately relaxed as she was set down on the ground. When she inhaled, she could feel the cool and dense aura entering her. Cultivating in an area like this would be much more effective. Wei Liang’s peak, in comparison, lacked such potent aura.

Each of the seven swordsmen also took in their own apprentices, and each individual peak could already be considered a large sect of its own. Qing Yun Xi was now awake from his coma, and the apprentices from Crane Hill looked excited. All the apprentices backed away as they saw Wei Liang coming.

“Master.”

Wei Liang brought Lin Jiu into Qing Yun Xi’s heavenly palace. Qing Yun Xi laid in his cold jade bed with a pale face and half-opened eyes. There were three people surrounding him—Liu Qing Yin, as well as the second and the fourth apprentice. After the epic battle of evil, three of the seven swordsmen didn’t make it, and now there were only four left.

“Master!” The three of them bowed politely and slightly backed away.

Wei Liang walked to the front, his cold eyes looking down on Qing Yun Xi on the jade bed. Lin Jiu didn’t know why, but it seemed like Wei Liang’s gaze wasn’t even really focused on Qing Yun Xi at all.

Lin Jiu observed the injured Qing Yun Xi with her own eyes. The man who should have been dead was miraculously still alive. His primordial spirit had been injured badly, and even though he was awake, his expression looked sluggish and he struggled to move his eyeballs.

Qing Yun Xin tried his best to turn his gaze towards Wei Liang and Lin Jiu as he heard the commotion. Lin Jiu felt that Qin Yun Xi resembled a lagging calculator, and every small gesture seemed delayed by ten seconds or more. While looking at him, Lin Jiu felt that she was also lagging.

Qin Yun Xi’s gaze finally fell on Wei Liang’s face. The injured man’s eyes slowly began to change, as if he had a million words that he wanted to say but couldn’t tell. His breathing started to become unusually fast, and it became a startling sight to see the heavy breathing strangely combined with the slow body.

“Big Brother!” Liu Qing Yin cried. “Is there something you want to tell your master? Don’t rush, don’t rush!” She rushed forward and pressed Qin Yun Xi’s pulse, transferring her aura to him to help ease his emotions. “The few evil masters have already been defeated, now you just need to rest well! Don’t overthink!”

Qin Yun Xi struggled to turn his gaze towards Liu Qing Yin’s face. His expression creased in pain, but beneath that it also showed a slight admiration towards her.

Lin Jiu didn’t find this strange; she knew that all men would like Liu Qing Yin. Qing Yun Xi seemed to notice Lin Jiu’s stare, and he slowly shifted his gaze to the girl with the wedding robe.
