Chapter 50 - Luna Jiang, I Really Like You (2/2)
'How rude!' they both thought at the same time.
They looked at Luna then back at Aiko Chen and realized that the relationship between the two was superficial and not very good. Both of them decided to keep their silence, waiting to see what Aiko was scheming to do.
Luna thought that she was fortunate not to be cornered by Aiko alone. She could already guess what could happen between them if Joanna and Jasmine weren't there to look after her.
”Yes, I came with my friends. Thank you for sending the invitations on time, or else we would be late,” she replied, making the smile on Aiko's face falter a little.
Aiko Chen wasn't stupid. She knew that this country bumpkin was drawing a line between them.
”I'm glad you did. I sent in on a rush. Jasper almost forgot to send your invitations that I needed to remind him of that.” Aiko chuckled, making Joanna and Jasmine sneered inwardly.
”Miss Jiang, have I met you before? You seemed familiar to me.” Jasmine Xuan tapped her chin as if trying to remember where she'd seen her, but in truth, she was just acting to divert everyone's attention from Aiko Chen.
Luna saw that her sister-in-law and her friend didn't like and couldn't tolerate Aiko anymore. To not give them ideas that she was being friendly to Aiko, she jumped to their boat and left Aiko to sink alone.
”Miss Xuan must be joking. I rarely attend such extravagant parties. It must be because my face is common that Miss Xuan confused me with someone else?”
”Ah, Luna. How could you? My eyes aren't that bad yet, and I can see clearly. How could I forget a beautiful woman like you? You're someone who isn't easy to forget, you know.” Jasmine's grin widened and took a quick glance at Aiko.
She really hated it when she saw a bully. What's more, this Aiko Chen was brave enough to bully Luna who she now considered a good friend.
Aiko felt like these women were treating her like an outcast. How did Luna Jiang manage to befriend these two anyway? One was the sister of the business tycoon while the other was an heiress.
As the three continued to chat, blatantly ignoring her presence; Aiko pretended she was fine and continued to smile at the guests who passed their way. Even though she was smiling, she'd been cursing Luna Jiang in her heart.
In the end, she excused herself to Joanna and Jasmine who bȧrėly gave her a look and left.
Seeing her gone, Joanna slapped Jasmine's arm lightly and laughed.
”Oww! Jo! That hurts you know!” Jasmine threw a glare to her friend.
”Have you seen her face? That's priceless!”
