Chapter 8 - First week at Hogwarts part 3 (2/2)

Later that evening, the ghosts have already leaked the news that Harry Potter is going to be the Gryffindor's new seeker.

When Daphne said the news to him, Neal replied, ”it's expected. Did you forget who took him? Professor McGonagall is the head of their house. Instead of faults, she will see the amazing talent in the act”.

During the dinner, as everyone was congratulating him, Draco keeps getting angry. Neal then said, ”See, you should've stopped when I told you so. Because of you, he became the youngest seeker of the century in the history of Hogwarts before even a week passed since the term started”.

The next day during breakfast, Prof. McGonagall gifted Harry the ”Nimbus 2000”, the fastest broom to date, with Dumbledore's permission, anonymously which brought jealousy to a lot of students from all the houses.

Later, everyone except Harry and Ron reached the Transfiguration class at the right time. At first, they didn't see anyone except a black cat sitting on the Teacher's desk. As Neal, Daphne and Tracey sat down together, Neal heard a low hiss from his sleeve.

As only Draco, Daphne and Tracey sat around him in the corner, no one else heard its sound. Daphne asked, ”what is Isle saying?”. Neal replied, ”it says that black cat isn't a cat”. Three of them looked at the black cat which is sitting just like a statue.

Tracey replied, ”now that you mention it, no cat will sit still like that”. Daphne asked, ”do you mean that cat is...?”. Neal nodded, ”no doubt about it. That's Professor McGonagall. I read something in a book. Some Wizards and witches have the ability to transform themselves into animals”.

As Draco heard his reply, he said to Crabbe and Goyle who were eating in the class, ”stop eating. That cat is Prof. McGonagall”. One by one as the students heard it, they stopped chatting and Hermoine said to her deskmate who is a Ravenclaw, ”that's right. How did I miss this? Of course, Prof. McGonagall is an Animagus.

As the whole class is silent, everyone in the class heard her whisper and so did the cat. It jumped and changed into her original self. She looked at Neal, ”good job, Slytherin for figuring out. One point for Slytherin House”.

Harry and Ron arrived late to the class as they were busy trying the new broom and forgot about the timings. They sat down after getting scolded by her. Draco mumbled, ”if it was Prof. Snape, he would have taken a couple of points for arriving late from Gryffindor”.

She started her class by introducing the subject. ”Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts”. Then she warned ”anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. That includes arriving late to the class too”.

After she sternly warned, she continued her lesson. Then she changed her desk into a pig and changed it back to the desk. Neal was sure excited to change his desk into a snake but instead of that, they were given a match and were told to turn it into a needle after writing notes for half of the time in the class.

At the end of the class, only Neal and Hermoine got the right thing but Prof. McGonagall gave points to Gryffindor as the needle in Neal's hand is a lot bigger than Hermoine's. She commented, ”your Transfiguration is good and perfect but the points go to Hermoine as her needle was accurate to mine while yours is too big”.

While Hermoine looked at him like saying she's better than him, Neal ignored her.

After the class is over, Prof. McGonagall went to pick up the needles that Hermoine and Neal Transfigured. When she saw Neal's transfigured needle, she almost dropped it in a shock.

”How is it possible?... Albus should know about this”.
