Chapter 8 - First week at Hogwarts part 3 (1/2)
Just when Neal thought everything's going well on his first flying lesson, a mishap once again happened to Neville and class got canceled as he pushed off the ground with a bit excessive force which made him fly higher without any control.
After falling on the ground and fracturing himself, Madam Hooch stopped the class and forbid everyone from flying until she comes back.
Neal was boiling up in anger as he can't be any more understanding. He mumbled, ”so this is why everyone says Gryffindors have a knack to cause trouble. Sigh...my first flying lesson”.
Just then, Draco picked up the Remembrall that Neville got from his grandmother as a gift on the first day. As soon as he saw Draco and Harry started to argue, Daphne whispered, ”Draco really has an obsession with Harry, doesn't he?”.
And just when Harry tried to step on the broom to fly, followed by Draco, Neal took out his wand from his robe. Daphne asked, ”what are you going to do?”. Neal replied, ”I don't take any more nonsense and rule-breaking”.
He pointed at Harry's feet, ”Locomotor Mortis”. A glow appeared on his wand's tip and suddenly, Harry fell on the ground from the broomstick. As everyone got surprised at the sudden change of situation, Neal pointed his wand at Draco who was already on the broomstick, ”step down and return the Remembrall to them or else don't blame me”.
When Draco saw the seemingly peaceful looking Neal turned serious for the first time, for some reason, his heart beat faster in a little bit of fear while looking at his hazel eyes. He came down and threw the Remembrall to Ron which he caught in reflex.
Hermoine immediately removed the curse on Harry with a counter curse. As Slytherins and a few people were laughing at Harry, he looked at Neal seriously while Ron whispered, ”all Slytherins are snakes after all. In the end, they will try to bite others”.
Hermoine on the other hand, ”stop it. Thanks to him, you were prevented from breaking the rules. If Madam Hooch hears this, we will lose points again”.
A few minutes later, Madam Hooch returned from the hospital wing. ”good. Everyone is behaving properly. Okay everyone, step on the broomstick and push the ground with your feet gently. I repeat gently. I don't want to get another accident”.
Neal quickly forgot the incident and lightly tapped the ground. Slowly, he started to fly. Neal smiled while looking at the ground from a few feet height in the air. Daphne stopped beside him, ”are you getting the hang of it?”.
After a while, Madam Hooch whistled, ”class time is over. Land slowly on the ground”. All of them grudgingly came down as everyone loves flying. Just as Neal thought that the class went smoothly aside from the start, the worst thing still happened.
While everyone else is landing, the Remembrall slipped from Ron's hand as he was concentrating on landing. It was then caught by Draco. Neal stayed silent this time as a Professor was looking after the class.
Draco who caught the Remembrall taunted Harry to catch it if he wants while he threw it far away when Madam Hooch wasn't concentrating on him.
Harry, proved his recklessness by flying faster to catch it instead of listening to Professor's orders. After he caught the Remembrall somehow which shocked Neal as he knew Harry is just like him. A person who grew up in the muggle world and has no experience in flying, he landed on the ground and got scolded by Madam Hooch and lost five points.
Quickly, Professor McGonagall came all of the sudden and took Harry with her. While the Slytherins are happy that Potter is going to be punished, Ron and Hermoine began to worry. Meanwhile, Daphne said, ”it seems that Potter has amazing flying skills”. Draco snorted, ”he's just lucky”.
