Chapter 18 - Can I have a Harem? (1/2)

Kyle: ”Attention Soldiers. I have discussed routes with Sergeant Barnes and Captain Rogers. Stick to them and keep an eye on this person for me.”

I tossed Zola to them, they tied him up and threw him the truck and held him in place. I took a jeep with Steve and Bucky driving it. We started moving back to the camp. When everyone was out of the base. I pressed the buŧŧon. It blew up. That was a scene right out of the movie.

{Same time on the base}

Someone was sitting on a type writer. Typing something inside a huge tent. Officials were chatting around. Colone Phillips was reciting the things to type in.

Suddenly a man Barged in the tent.

Man: ”You have to see this, sir.”

Col: ”What happened Soldier.”

Man: ”Come with me, Sir. They have returned.”

Everyone was like someone just pulled their souls out of them. They ran out the tent and went in the direction of entrance to camp.

There were lines of tanks and trucks moving toward the camp. The tanks were like never seen before. All were following a jeep. I was in the jeep with Steve on the back side and Bucky was driving. Col was just smirking on the gate. Seeing colonel, I just jumped out the jeep.

Col: ”You did what you told. I was right in choosing you.”

Kyle: ”Thank you sir.”

All vehicles were parked and everyone was standing behind me with Steve and Bucky on the side. I asked them to hand over Zola and tesseract to Colonel.

Kyle: ”Sir, this is the man behind all the technology the Hydra is using and they are using this think as the energy source. They call this tesseract and it is an unlimited energy source. This is what I have gathered from the reports in his office.”

Col: ”You surprised me, Major.”

Kyle: ”You are surprised by only this, Colonel. Ha-ha, then this will blow your mind.”

I asked for a gun and shot it toward a target. The target just vanished from the sight. Everyone was just standing their mouth opened.

Col: ”I don't have anything to say now. Want a pay raise, major or should I say Colonel.”

Now I was standing my mouth opened, I knew they will promote me but isn't this really very fast. Colonel was smiling watching my reaction and handed me the promotion letter. It was freshly typed. I can smell it.

Kyle: (calming down) ”I want to rest now, sir.”

Everyone else was just laughing and praising me and Steve, but praising me more. I feel guilty as I took Steve's chance but I am the protagonist now, so it doesn't matter.

I went back to my home. I saw Carter there; she had a bandage on her head. Elly was sleeping beside on the couch. I ran toward her. Seeing me she also stood up and came near me.

Kyle: ”What happened, Peggy?”

Carter: ”Nothing happened, I was just playing with Elly. She was running suddenly she lost her balance. I ran to catch her. I pulled her back but my head hit the corner.”

I hugged her really tight. She didn't resist. I ċȧrėssed her head.

Kyle: (Still hugging) ”Thank god you are fine Peggy. You are too careless.”

Carter: (releasing from hug) ”You are just panicking too much.”

Kyle: ”Sorry for hugging you. I was just…”

Carter: ”Don't mind it. You came back really fast. Is Steve with you. I don't see him.”

Kyle: ”Oh, he is with Bucky and others. He might come here soon.”

Carter: ”Okay, if you say so. How was the mission?”
