Chapter 13 - Fighting a Sigbin (1) (2/2)

Ziro couldn't grasp her breath when she floundered to stand. Faster! Faster! With a throbbing internal pain, her heart was tremendously racing. Although she got injured, she tightly gripped her sword size weapon and urged to fight. D*mn you! She was not a scaredy-cat!

Her right hand simply grabbed her cut left shoulder and put pressure on it. Better to keep blood loss into minimum or she might die.

Shhk!

It was back again and was ready to launch another blistering attack.

”Come on!! You stinker! ” Feeling agitated, Ziro clenched her teeth and pointed her weapon on that deer-sized monster.

But one thing she forgot about her grandma told her… sigbins' special ability was to turn invisible when they move backwards!

”It…It… It disappeared?!!”

Her eyes popped out when it suddenly vanished. It just stepped one of its feet paced back until its whole body dissolved into murky mist.

”Ah!!” She was still staring at an emptied space when a long swing of dagger immediately sliced her thɨġh. Ziro's knee slumped on the ground as she ġrȯȧnėd in agony.

Without any time to mend her wound, another slash sheathed her other thɨġh until she slumped completely. Pain could be traced from her eyes as it twitched slightly while her teeth were gritting each other. Then another swing of a small knife landed on her right arm, and another one on her smooth face until multiple attacks landed on her frail body. Not long, her small figure already covered with dozens of cuts as she was just helplessly hugged her self and sat on the ground. Sigbin was too fast for her to handle… even with just its invisibility her life was already in grave.

With such repugnance, she cupped her arms tightly and couldn't help but to blame such unfortunate fate of her!

'Why do I have to be so weak?'

On this instant, her previous memories exploded on her mind. That exact moment, those exact words, she remembered all of her hatred, from her stepfather, from her impious stepfamily that killed her mother. Ziro's face suddenly went ugly and her eyes went dark as she just stared the ground blankly. Her heart seemingly retracted extreme beat as though it would rip her ċhėst. Those disgusting stepfamily she got yet she extremely abhorred, how could she forget all of them?!
