35 Chapter 35: Red Do (2/2)
I turn to face her and look her in the eyes,
”Kaz, el año pasado realmente ha sido el mejor de toda mi vida. Me has mostrado lo que es el verdadero amor, y ahora,”
(Kaz, the past year has truly been the best of my entire life. You have shown me what true love is, and now,)
I take out the ring and get down on one knee,
”Kazmaria, will you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Hernandez?”
Her eyes are wide and tears are slowly flowing down,
”Yes Ricky, YES!”
I put the ring on her finger and kiss her soft lips. The crowd hoots and cheers but it soon fades into nothing. All I can hear is my heart beating 200 miles a hour until we part lips.
”Ricky,”
She squeezes my hand,
”I love you.”
I pick her up,
”I love you too, Mrs. Hernandez.”
I walk down the stairs of the stage and let her back down. People walk up to me and congratulate us on our engagement. Lina wanders over and takes hold of Kaz,
”I'm gonna steal her for a bit and don't worry, she won't get drunk...maybe.”
She and a group of females all head to the bar while me and the others hang back.
”So you finally decided to settle down huh?”
Carlos pats my back,
”Yeah man, she's the one.”
”How'd you know?
A familiar voice grabs my attention,
”That she was the one I mean.”
”Lucy?”
She smiles,
”I know, probably the last person you'd wanna see.”
”Uh, no, it's nothing like that, i'm just a little surprised.”
”Well after hearing that the 'ice cold cholo Ricardo' was planning on getting hitched, I thought i'd drop by. But never mind that, answer my question.”
”Oh yeah sure.”
I think for a moment,
”I knew she was the woman I wanted to spend my life with over time. Everyday I fell in love with her. You know when it's the right one when you feel it in your balls.”
A few of the guys chuckle at my bad joke.
”Hm, so i'm guessing you never felt that with Layla huh?”
An awkward silence hovers over us as she glares at me.
”How about we go grab a drink?”
Carlos tried to change the subject,
”Nah, it's fine Carlos.”
I return her nasty look,
”No. I never felt like that with her. One second of being with Kaz is worth more to me than a lifetime with that bitch.”
She taps her fingernail against her glass,
”Walk with me Rico.”
”It's Ricky and I think i'll pass.”
She walks over and whispers in my ear;
”Take a look at your fiancé, you see that little red dot?”
I look over at Kaz and see exactly what she's talking about.
I can feel my blood boil. I want nothing more than to wring her fucking neck, but I know better than to cause a scene.
”If you don't want anything to happen with her, I suggest you take this walk with me.”
I shove her away from me,
”Alright, but get that shit off of her. Then we talk.”
She grins and taps the bluetooth in her ear,
”We're good, call it off.”
'I should've killed her too.'
”Shall we be leaving now?”
She gives me a wicked smile.
”Let's get this bullshit over with you fucking crazy bitch. I've got better things to attend to.”
