Jiang Jiujiu raised her hand and tested the temperature of Xiang Yi’s forehead before muttering to herself.

“How…how come it isn’t warm at all…”

Xiang Yi was caught between tears and laughter. “I’mnot running a fever.”

“No, you have a fever!” Jiang Jiujiu said with certainty. “Sit still and be good while I go get a thermometer to take your temperature!”

She pinned Xiang Yi to the bed forcefully. After taking a few steps away, she realized that she had appeared a little overly concerned.

She added coquettishly, “Don’t be mistaken, I’m just scared that you might pass your fever to me! Hmph!!”

Jiang Jiujiu looked at the number on the thermometer which read 36.8 degrees before finally accepting reality.

‘Xiang Yi isn’t running a fever = Xiang Yi is sober and capable of thinking rationally = The dog-like man has snatched Xiang Yi away!’

‘Is he worthy?’

‘He’s not!’

Having expected better, Jiang Jiujiu asked, “What do you see in him? He’s just… good looking, isn’t he? He’s just… successful in his career, isn’t he? He’s just…” She was suddenly at a loss for words because she had just listed out all of Shi Sui’s positive attributes. Feeling embarrassed and angry, “Xiang Yi, wake up, are you such a superficial person!?! You’ve met all sorts of handsome men, must you be attracted to him?”

Xiang Yi bit her lower lip and reflected on herself for a few seconds before saying, “I think, I do.”
