Chapter 263: Master Reader! (1/2)
”No thanks, pretty sister.”
Before coming here, Theo Rose had explained the rules to him.
He didn't need to waste his time listening to them once again.
Moreover, there were so many obnoxious bastards here that he wanted to get what he needed and leave in a hurry.
Elliot threw one last fleeting glance at her and said, ”I know the rules; just get me some books.”
The staff members were the ones who were responsible for giving and retrieving books from the customer. The rabbit girl patiently waited by his side. After browsing through the virtual bookshelves, Elliot ordered her to get him a few books. A moment after jotting down the books he requested on a piece of paper, the rabbit girl went away. It took a few minutes for her to return with several books.
”Please enjoy your time.”
She said after placing the books on the table.
”That I surely will.”
Without giving her a tip, Elliot buried himself in the book. He didn't know that it was a formality to reward the workers for their work as he was new to this place.
'What bad luck.'
The rabbit girl, Freya, walked away disappointed.
Tips formed a major part of her income.
Since Elliot didn't give her any, she could only cry internally and regret that she wasted her cuteness on a heartless man. She was a newbie and didn't know how to recognize wealthy visitors. She sighed and thought to herself; I would do better next time!
Many people came in and went out of the library. Some used their spaceships to visit, while the others opened a portal to this place. The library was a sort of a spaceship itself. One can even compare it to an artificial tract of land that floated near the sea of stars owned by the soul race.
The library came equipped with a time formation. Time in this place passed 100 times slower than the real world.
The esoteric engineers had also used the space expansion technique to make the library's interior so big that it could accommodate ten million visitors at a time. It was an excellent place to read and study.
The only bad thing about this place was that a person could only come here once a year, and during their stay, they could at most remain here for three days. Once they leave, whether they had stayed for three days or not, they could not return till the next spirit year comes. 1 spirit year=10 Earth years.
The library wasn't short of visitors.
Space needed to be made every few days to accept the visitors wanting to come here, and thus such a rule was in play.
Elliot was sitting near the window.
A lid was covering it when he had started reading.
Right now, the lid was fully open, meaning a day had passed. He could see half of the sun outside the window. Rays of sunlight scattered into the library and spread to him. The golden rays kissed his skin and illuminated his handsome face. It also helped in highlighting his posture. He was sitting with his legs crossed, hands holding a book, and his back lazily rested on the chair. He kept his eyes low to gaze at the book. His eyelashes cast a thin shadow beneath his eyes. All in all, he looked so handsome that he attracted the gaze and excited yells of many singles, be it demi-humans or aliens!
