Chapter 179: Even Impurities have a soul! (1/2)

Elliot sighed, picked him up from Lucy's shoulder, and put him in his pocket.

”Will he be fine?” Lucy asked worriedly.

”Don't worry,” Elliot said. ”I won't let him die.”

His words reassured her a lot.

In truth, Elliot had a way of saving it, and that was to feed it remnants of soul and cores as to nourish its nearly depleted and almost crumbling soul.

However, for that, he would've to go back to the Mystic Red Forest—a place parallel to this forest, he deduced. Of course, he couldn't do that as he needed to first deal with the serpentine devils.

”What should we do now?” Oliver asked.

”Rest and eat!”

”That sounds like the perfect plan.”

”I'm exhausted!”

”Silence.” Elliot's calm voice sounded in their ears, making them forget about whatever was going on in their heads. ”Go and loot everything you can from this place and bring them to me.”

They had planned to rest, but Elliot had no intention of letting them freeload off of himself. Thus, he ordered the nine of them to do some work while he, himself, walked towards the biggest treehouse and entered it. The expression of his slaves wrinkled up, but Elliot didn't give a damn about their crumpled expressions. Meanwhile, Oliver, Lucy, and Arthur willfully got to work. After all, they wanted to contribute at least something.

The nine of them entered one treehouse after another, picked up everything that entered their sight, and brought them to him.

”You guys can go and rest, now.”

After giving them a few packets of chips and other junk food, he sent them away. Only a few of them remembered to thank him before going away. They were Lucy, Tia, and the two magic knights, Oliver and Arthur.

Elliot shrugged, not feeling unpleased because of the damned attitude of his slaves. He didn't need them to like him as he didn't like them either. He was only going to use them before eventually discarding them, and that included Tia.

”Let's see what we have got here!”

Elliot turned to the treasures on the floor. He was inside the grandest treehouse of the beast's house. It was big enough for him, but there was no spot to walk free. After all, treasures filled this house! From spiritual herbs, equipment, spatial rings of the magicians that they had hunted to even copper treasure boxes, all of them were around him.

Oliver, Lucy, and the others didn't know the value of these things as they didn't know what they were, but Elliot had been digging for information ever since he came here, so he knew much about these items! Thus, he didn't even felt the to use the power of his know-it-all godly eye to know what about most of them.

First off, Elliot started by opening the copper treasure chests.

[You've gained ten remnants of the soul]

[You've gained five soul cores]

[You've gained a low-level spirit matrix, Damage Negation]

[Spirit Matrix: Damage Negation]

[Level: Low-level item.]

[Effect: Decrease all physical and magical damage by 10%. Integrate it into a piece of equipment to amplify its magical defense and physical defense.]

Elliot sighed as he didn't have armor. He stored the spirit matrix into his subspace, then he summoned his most loyal undead and fed it ten remnants of the soul.

[Kayn has consumed ten remnants of the soul.]

[Kayn has successfully used the energy present in them to nourish his unborn soul.]

[Congratulations! Kayn has a taken another step towards the creation of his soul.]

[Soul Formation Progress: 60.]

”That should be enough for now.” Elliot said, ”Now, go back and be prepared to participate in a war the next time I summon you.”

He patted his head before reverse-summoning him back to the space in the Undead King's requiem.
