Chapter 148: A Secret Compartment! (2/2)

The spirit of exploration in his eyes intensified, and he stepped up to the broken wall.

Straight ahead, there wasn't any path.

However, down below, he saw many gems glittering brightly. In the center of it all were the most eye-catching things.

One was the statue of a peerless champion of the ancient era, and standing beside it was a peerless beauty.

After taking a plunge for a good whole minute, he opened his wings and slowly descended near them. Looking at them closely with his eyes, not only did he realize how life-like they were, but he also found out that there was a mechanism hidden in them.

Grabbing the lock of her translucent hair and bringing them close to his lips, he smelled them. Weird indeed, almost to the level of being creepy, even he was a bit freaked out doing it to a statue of a saint-like female.

However, his actions triggered the secret mechanism!

The chest of the statue caved in to reveal an orb, one with many symbols on it!

Patterns he would like to call them, one similar to a magic matrix.

[Teleporter (Part A)]

It was one of the many parts of the fabled technology that no one has ever come across!

Elliot grabbed it with trembling hands and stored it in his subspace while looking around, just to make sure that there was no one here except for him.

[The Challenger has discovered one of the components of a teleporter and made significant progress in the ongoing trial. The stone of worth is impressed by you.]

When that notification popped up in his mind and confirmed that this wasn't an illusion, excitement rose from the pits of his stomach and surged throughout his body.

He didn't remain idle and moved to trigger the secret mechanism of the statue of a heroic man.

Immediately, the bricks on the wall a distance away from his brightened up, gaining his attention.

Then, they disappeared one block at a time.

At last, a path leading to a bright world revealed itself to him.

'Go ahead or go back?!'

'Can't I return here anyway?'

Elliot hurriedly stored the gems of varying sizes into his subspace. They weren't of value in his eyes, but he believed Lisa would be overjoyed to have them and did want to see her dress up in such extravagant luxuries.
