Chapter 9: Cant believe my eyes! (2/2)

”Let's get in line and wait for my turn.”

Elliot joined this line, standing behind a group of youngsters dressed extravagantly in robes linen with golden and silver threads.

He kept his presence small as he didn't want to get sighted by his bullies, and he passed the time by listening to the words uttered by the people in his surroundings, taking in the chatter.

”It shouldn't take long for my turn to arrive.”

A few minutes later, he passed through the split in the middle of the gate after showing the guard his ID and being told the location of the examination center.

”I'm finally inside.”

Then, he stepped on a curved stone pathway, walking in the center of a road surrounded by trees and flowers, and he entered one of the many examination centers after passing through a stone archway.

The moment he entered the examination center, a few people turned to glance at him, only to look away in the very next second as they realized that it was the most pathetic existence in the magician community.

However, Theo Rose kept on looking at Elliot with a scorching gaze and an expression of disbelief.

The very first time he looked at him, there was nothing special about Elliot. Instead, he was bound to die within a year as his eyes saw the black veil of death covering his body.

Now, however, a golden layer encompassed every nook and corner of his body, albeit it was thinner than a sheet.

Unbelievable!

”What the hell happened to the fate of the weakest magician? Why is he covered in a thin layer of golden radiance? Shouldn't he have no luck and fate? I'm sure he was surrounded by a dark aura, signifying that his life was going to end in a year. How did he manage to alter his fate and take a turn toward glory?”

Simply inconceivable!

Of course, this shocked Theo Rose out of his wits.

In his entire sixteen years of life, he has never seen a person covered in the black glow of death surviving for more than a year, yet Elliot hasn't only got rid of his fate of death but has also gained the aura of glory.

It didn't matter how thin the glow of glory around him was.

What mattered in his eyes was that Elliot did a thing that no one in the past had done.

”Interesting,” Theo said while looking at Elliot, a smile stretching across his face.

”There's something mysterious about him for sure. I guess my time in the academy wouldn't be as boring as I thought it was going to be.”

Elliot didn't know that he has attracted the attention of the most powerful magician in this room.

He just walked up to one of the empty seats and sat down on it in silence.
