Chapter 4: You Will Have To Die (2/2)
For his objective, he needed Evan's complete cooperation, and now he got it!
As soon as it entered Evan's forehead, Aldress fell on his knees, feeling completely weak coupled with his almost shattered soul. His pale face no longer looked dignified nor lofty.
But instead, his lips curled into a sinister smile as he said in an ominous tone, ”Now die for me!”
Evan's eyes widened as he felt a hellish wave of force suddenly spread through every inch of his body and started to torment both his body and mind.
He felt as if his body and soul were literally getting burned and devoured by some malevolent and insatiable demon inside him.
And seeing the sinister smile on Aldress' face, which contrasted with his previous majestic expression, Evan felt chills all over his body and couldn't stop cursing inwardly, 'This fucker swindled me!...This isn't how it's supposed to go…'
He didn't even have enough energy to shout out his curses and knew that he should have trusted his instincts that things were too good to be true.
But he was too desperate, and his life was already done for to think too much about it.
The infernal pain he was experiencing all over his body made him wish for death so many times. Not even the most hardened criminals of his world would be able to inflict such soul-shredding pain.
He already coughed out a lot of blood and felt that his life was fading away as he curled up on the rough ground; even the pain he was feeling began to numb, wondering whether it was because his death was nearing or because his nerves have been devoured by this demonic Origin Blood.
But the cutting pain in his head was still present as if his very soul was the only thing left to be devoured.
However, Aldress' smile stifled as his brows started to pull together upon noticing a strange abnormality.
He was prepared to transfer his soul towards Evan's body and extinguish Evan's soul. But now, no matter how hard he tried, it seemed like something in Evan's body was rejecting him!
It seemed like every strand of energy he sent to Evan's soul was getting devoured like a black hole. This was like an ironic slap to his prowess.
Even his soul was barred from entering Evan's body, and a strange feeling was transmitted to his soul, which made his face grimace with dread!
Even when he fought against grand characters, he never showed a tinge of fear in his eyes. He could not even remember the last time he felt fear.
But now a terrifying and monstrous existence like him who lived for eons, once again realized what it was like to feel primal terror!
There was no longer a shred of his previous lofty and aloof demeanor but just a wan face of an old man drowning in fear.
Evan couldn't see Aldress' face as he was horrified to see his limbs slowly turning to dust as the rest of his body seemed to be crumbling away.
He cried out in panic, but no matter how hard he tried, there was no voice coming out since even his neck seemed to have turned into dust, and finally, his face also began to disintegrate till there was not a speck of dust left of him.
Seeing all these shocking developments helplessly, Aldress' chin and lips were trembling in terror as he remembered the feeling he felt when he tried to enter Evan's body. His eyes were narrowed into slits as he mumbled, ”What...are you…”
