Chapter 518 - Be my King (2/2)
After a few minutes of kissing her, he pulled away but kept her in his arms. He cradled her head with his hand and laid them both down on the makeshift bed.
He enjoyed the silence for awhile even though he normally disliked it. Rhys focused on the sound of the rain which would normally disturb him. It felt like he took a load of his shoulders there. She is the second person he told this story too, the first was Kazuya. Well the first one was because he accidentally saw him use that magic. This is the first time he actually told somebody willingly.
”The rain isnt stopping.”
”You have said that about fifty times already.”
Lyn laughed. ”Uh right.”
”Dont be nervous, even I am not stupid enough to do something.”
”Well even I know that but why are we cuddling?”
He raised his eyebrows. Why is she even asking that? Maybe she wanted to kiss more? Rhys shook his head and pulled the blanket around her so it was more on her side than his. To think she even brought something like this along with her. She is too prepared, too used to these situations even though she shouldnt be.
”Sleep.” Rhys didnt answer her question. He feared that he would lose control again and harm her.
”Rhys Im not tired.”
Rhys sighed deeply and leaned forward to kiss her again. ”Not tired? Then should we continue instead?”
At that comment Lyn pulled the blanket over and covered her face. ”Goodnight!”

It was around midnight where he woke up alarmed. He sensed a malicious presence outside but after Rhys closed his eyes he realized who it was. The anger had gone down after he told that story to Lyn but thinking of the past made his bitter feelings resurface.
The moment he stepped out of the cave he spotted a man with dark coloured hair and emerald green coloured eyes. ”Quite some time has passed since we met no, fifth brother?”
His eyes twitched annoyed but he held his anger back. ”What do you want with me? I already left.”
Kain sighed. ”Indeed you did. But recently people are talking about the past again and mentioned that incident. Moreover the Second Princess is becoming quite popular here so naturally those around her are getting attention too. At first I was not certain. There is no possible way for you to get involved with a member of royalty considering that you left with nothing. But after investigating I learned what happened to you. It seems your quite lucky no?”
”...” Rhys gaze dimmed, understanding what he was doing here. If it were in the past maybe he would have followed along with this bastard but not now. Not now when he has something he wants to protect with all his heart. A black wave of swirls wrapped around him and Kain sighed.
”It seems you want to do this the hard way.”
