Lyn never wanted this to happen. She never wanted the people she cares about to get hurt. Is this because she hid her power? Because she - did something like that, people felt the need to protect her. They felt the need to protect her and got hurt in the process. This is her fault, for hiding it. ”Rhys, I'm so sorry.”

”Don't apologize,” he mumbled against her cheek. ”None of this was your fault, okay?”

He tried to reassure her but Lyn saw how he struggled to even speak. It pained her watching him. He was still trying to remain strong to reassure her, he was still trying to act tough. Rhys knows she will blame herself for this, she is already blaming herself heavily. That's why he is trying to show her that he isn't hurt. But, she is no fool. She can see with her own eyes that he is injured.

None of this was her fault? Like she can believe that excuse.

Several screams resounded in the air. A blood churning scream.

She's done it.

She is no longer that one-time murderer.

She is a repeat offender, now.

She will never forgive herself, but who cares about that? These people keep harming the people who she cares about.

And she sinks into these thoughts as she struggles to stand up. Having an anaemic body doesn't help solve things. Only to hear the approaching footsteps behind her, ”....stay back. My blood is still in tac, you'll get injured.”

”Lyn.”

Lyn laughs lightly, ” Idiot, why are you moving around? You're more hurt than me.”

”Lyn,” Rhys pulled her into his arms.

”.. I, I'm afraid.”

That's right she is still afraid.

The closer she gets to true happiness; the more fear she feels. That's why she doesn't spend everyday with those dear to her, because she's afraid that if she gets too close then once again everything will slip away from the very tips of her fingers.

”I know. But you do not have to fret too much, I will be here and Kazjya too. Although the later is the one that is causing you to suffer. You are not alone and even if everything precious to you disappears. I will be here.”

”Do you mean to say that you'll always be by my side?”

”Yes.”

Anybody can say those words.

Anybody can say they will stay with her no matter what happens and yet for some reason, whenever this person says it. She feels as though she can trust him whole heartedly.
