Chapter 323 - Mystery of Junlan Church P3 (2/2)

Lyn blinked, ”You left all your reports out. Did you really think I wouldn't leave?”

Rhys scratched his head, ”I trusted you.”

”I told you, I'd come back later.”

”That's not the point here. I'm sure your husband will be worried about you.”

”I said I'd be back, so if he doesn't trust my word and still worries. It's his fault. Besides, Allen is injured still, even if he finds out, he won't come after me.”

Lyn knew that her words were harsh and cold, but that's just how she is. Although it should already be something that isn't new to him. Rhys still looked surprised every single time. Lyn sighed; she really is far too honest when it comes to this person. But she supposed it can't be helped.

”You know that's not it at all, it's about you possibility getting in to dang--” Lyn cut his sentence short when she threw a knife at him. Rhys barely dodged it.

His dropped, ”Alright, I understand. .. You're strong enough to protect yourself.”

Lyn smiled, ”I'm glad you understand,” she trailed off. ”Say, Rhys, you ought to be knowledgeable about the affairs of the common folks correct?”

”If you keep talking like that, you'll get us caught.”

While they weren't in the main streets now, Lyn understood what he meant and nodded.

”What is it that you want to know? If you want food, I know a good place.”

Lyn rolled her eyes, ”Why are you always trying to feed me?” At first, she thought he was attentive towards her. However, something seemed strange to her.

”Isn't it obvious? Your way too thin, I'd like you to have a bit more meat before we do it.”

At that comment, she pulled out another knife, and Rhys sighed. ”Calm down, will you?”

”You're a jerk. Leave me alone.”

”No can do I'm afraid. So? What do you want?”

Lyn sighed. ”Do you know where to buy tickets? I want to get on the long carriage...”

”What are you planning?”

Lyn rummaged through her bag and pulled out a small notebook. ”I want to go to Junlan church. But, before then, there are a few other places I want to stop by. Still, I don't know exactly where to start..” she trailed off when she saw Rhys expression turning darker. ”You'll be coming with me, so I'll be fine. Quit worrying already, okay?”

Rhys doesn't say anything, and she walked over until she stood directly opposite him. He seemed to be in a daze, so she grabbed hold of his hands. ”Rhys?”

”I get a bad feeling something will go wrong. Won't you reconsider? Whatever it is, we can go another time when we have more people...”

”Rhys, I'll be fine. Believe me.”

Rhys bent down and brushed his lips against hers. Startled Lyn froze, and after a few minutes, Rhys pulled away. ”Well, I guess I can use this chance to kiss you a bit more.”

T—t—this man!!! Argh, what was she thinking?

”We should go this way,” Rhys pointed to the left.

”..”

So frustrating, but at least he agreed. If it were Allen or Kazuya, they would have surely said no.
