Chapter 301 - Stay (2/2)
'I believe those two took shelter from the rain. You should hear from them soon.'
Arthur brushed his fingers against the girl's black locks. She is far too foolish. Her skin is so white; she looks like a ghost. Guess what happened recently affected her health. She was already losing loads of blood, to begin with.
Her careless action from earlier did not help her at all. Arthur closed the door and made his way down the hallway and the steps. Once he arrived at a room at the bottom of the hall, he opened the door and saw two people.
”Ah, King, welcome. Is she sleeping?” Sanford asked.
Arthur nods, ”Yeah.”
Calton, who was washing up, called out from the kitchen area. ”Both of you don't have any luck from the seems of it. Arthur, you wanted to speak with Prince Ralph again, right?”
”Yeah.”
”He was just here. It's a shame too since Princess Lyn had something to give him also.”
”Why are you here, anyway?”
Calton smiled, ”Of course, it's to take you back,” he trailed off. ”Your lucky I was the one who found your men. If it were anybody else, then you'd get in more trouble.”
”I know, thanks.”
”And so? How long are you going to stay? I already have things prepared; your men are waiting for you.”
Arthur looked towards the door that leads towards Princess Lyn's room; he recalled how the girl had recently been falling asleep in his room. He recalled how confused she was regarding Rhys. The girl's words echoed in his head, Lyn looking at him with a sad expression asking how much longer until he left. Arthur felt like he knew the reason why she kept coming over to him; it was because she is uneasy.
Lyn is worried that he would disappear without saying goodbye. Initially, Arthur thought to do that, but as time went by, that changed. He realized that when the time came for him to return, he would say goodbye to her properly.
He did not have to look at his companion's faces to know that they wanted to leave immediately. Otherwise, Calton would not have come all this way, his friend could have just left him a message. Caltons appearance means that he wants him to return immediately. However, ”Sorry,” Arthur apologized. ”But, I am afraid you came out here for nothing. I cannot return with you.”
This is not simply because of the promise he made with Prince Ralph; in fact, it was the opposite. It had nothing to do with the promise at all, Arthur just wanted to stay with Lyn.
