Chapter 286 - Fragile (1/2)
Year 4014- Rhys Quarters-
When Lyn opened her eyes, she glanced at her surroundings ....she was in a room. ”Unnngh,” Lyn rubbed her eyes and looked around. She was in a room that was not her own.
Not just any room too. The huge spiral staircase by the brown curtains, leading to downstairs. Her floor was wood, but a beautiful shade of gold. The sofa at the side was velvet brown, with creamy white shaped cushions. The persons closest was huge, with a small mirror attached inside. Once you opened it, it's like stepping into another room. Hidden underneath all those boxes were probably their most prized possessions — a massive board in the center of the room, which could be closed up.
In the center was a table in front of the sofa and creamy colored carpets. The bed she laid in was placed in the corner of the room, by the enormous windows. Which was black and had bright brown cushions? A desk and medium-sized bookshelf beside the bed. Beside the bed, a small bedside table with a lamp. Rhys room... right?
Unlike Kazuya's plain and simple room, Lyn discovered that Rhys place was larger. So, that means they treat Rhys better? How come? Forget it. She probably ought to leave. She doesn't understand what is going on right now, but she ought to leave quickly.
As she thought to leave, though, her hand knocks on something. Ah, did it break? Lyn bends down and sighs a breath of relief, seeing it in tac. What is this? The covers blank. What about the back? Lyns flicked it around; her eyes go wide. ' Dearest Lyn.'
Is this...
She doesn't understand anymore.
Allen, the reason why she could not accept him, is because she is weak. But, compared to the sheer loneliness of losing everything important, losing those you learned to love.
The current situation where things are slowly falling apart is a lot better. The reason she is fragile is not because of him. Just as Lyn was about to leave properly though, the doors opened revealing Rhys. ”You're up.” Lyn does not reply, and he made his way over.
”Yesterday,” Rhys mumbled. ”I'm sorry.”
Oh, is that it? Yesterday she was so afraid and yet...
”I'm leaving,” Lyn said and stood up. The moment she did though she felt a wincing pain appear in her body. Lyn froze, what's wrong with her? Rhys sat down on the bed and made her lie down before he climbed on top of her, his lips on hers.
”Rhys….stop…”
”Lyn,” he mumbled against her lips. ”You'll be okay. I'll be here.”
Is this why he apologized? Because she collapsed? How stupid. But, indeed the dark look she saw yesterday felt like a dream to her.
”Am I a cold person?”
”You're not.”
”Don't lie. You're fed up with me already aren't you? Especially as of late, I don't know why I'm relying on you so much, anyway. I'm sure you're thinking ' eh I thought I was finished dealing with this girl already.'” Lyn shouted.
”I don't think that.”
”Then why aren't you looking me in the eyes? You, you don't look at my eyes anymore. Not since that day.” Both of them knew even without her saying a word what day she meant.
Rhys reached over and pulled her into his arms, ” I'm looking. I'm sorry. Just rest, you are tired already. Your body's already breaking down.”
”Rhys, yesterday.”
His lips brushed against hers again, ”Ssh, forget it. Don't say anymore, Lyn, you'll be fine.”
But will she? Unlike before his words don't reassure her.
….
When Lyn woke up again, Rhys was nowhere in sight, but she hears familiar voices at the door. What time, her gaze fell on the window. It's noon already?
”I get it, I get. Let me see Lyn already.”
Pupillam sighed, ”Very well, but if she's sleeping, we leave right sway.”
