Chapter 229 - I understand (1/2)

12;45 Medical Center Year 4014 Mist Kingdom

When she came to, it the skies was still blue. She knew immediately she was in the medical center, but all she could think of was why she was wasting time here.

”Right. I fainted,” Lyn sighed. How does one faint in the middle of a conversation? Then again, Rhys was in the middle of healing her. He told her not to stress or get too emotional. But the talk they were having made her panic a bit.

This was her first time being admitted to a hospital. She had visited others in the hospital a couple of times, though. Now that Lyn thought about it, every time she came to places like this. It's when somebody dear to her has gotten hurt.

She looked at the ceiling in a daze; Lyn didn't think she was even permitted to go to a medical center. After all, her existence is supposed to be a hidden one. Kazuya and Rhys must have brought her here in a panic. Most people know better to send for mentor whenever she passes out. Before she passed out..

'Lyn, I'll always be by your side.'

The one who said those words, it was Rhys, wasn't it? What happened to Kazuya? Is he that upset with her? Because of the blade? When Lyn heard the story from Lady Rouxie though, it reminded her of a similar situation that she went through. It's exactly because she could relate.

She did her best to keep going no matter how many first times she encountered. Perhaps all the stress she had been bearing had burst out at once. The drip attached to her arm prevented her from moving.

”I thought I was quite healthy too,” she said, looking out the window at the nighttime scenery of Zuellni.

Three months. Today's scenery was different from usual. Was this because of the change in the color of the sky? Compared to the Snow Kingdom, the buildings here, the land and sky are different. She only spent a short time in the Snow Kingdom. But already the scenery of her hometown was starting to be unfamiliar to her. Then again, how would she know the view of her home town? What she knows about this place is very little. She knows nothing.

Absolutely nothing, ”A Princess in name, huh?” Lyn mumbled out loud. In the past, it was like this before, and yet why is it so painful now. Things have always been like this. Didn't she say it before? She wants to change the Empire as Lyn, and not as a Princess. But Lyn wondered when, when did that distinction start blurring?

It's not like she wants the throne. But, in the Snow Kingdom, when she used her status as a Princess, she was able to get more people to listen to her.

Lyn glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. It was lunchtime. A deep sigh escaped her lips; she wasted so much time. She needs to leave quickly and go find Allen.

The doors quietly opened. ”Kazuya?”

”Sorry, did I wake you?”

”No,” she shook her head as Kazuya made his way over.

Kazuya brushed his hand across her forehead, ”Are you feeling ok?”
