Lyn was good at sensing people's emotions; that's why she understood that this topic made Reiji uncomfortable. Lyn quickly changed the subject.

”You must have heard from the King, right? I am still new to all of this. Yet all that stuff happened to me when I was a kid,” Lyn started. Reiji nodded. ” My parents did it to protect me. I suppose I suppose they didn't want to drag me into a world filled with bloodshed. When I first found out about the truth of the world many years ago, I was shocked - surprised. I didn't want to hear it. I wanted to escape from it all; I didn't want to know anything. I continued to reject it.”

Reiji nodded, ”That's only normal.”

”But the person that told me the truth of the world showed no hostility; he told me straight everything. He told me that it's my decision to do what I want, the options were after I helped him with his work he would erase my memories and make me forget. Or I keep them,” Lyn recalled it. The might she first met Kazuya, he gave her a choice to forget. But she chose this path.

”You kept them. That's surprising; the King told me you were a kind girl. Someone who had seen no wars before.”

Lyn chuckled, ”That's true. Up until then, I knew nothing. Even though there was stuff in the news about murder cases, I only thought it was awful. I witnessed nothing like that before. So when I found out about the truth of the world, I was shocked.”

Lyn closed her eyes and opened them again. That's right; it shocked her. She hadn't been able to accept it at first. She wanted to forget it all. ” Yet he told me. Not because he wanted to destroy my life, no, in fact, it's the opposite. What do you think of seekers?”

”Weaklings. There's not much they can do, plus they drag in poor souls into this mess.”

”The person who told me the truth of the world is one.”

Reiji seemed stunned with her response, ” I see, so you were ...a native that was deemed useful. Then are you okay with this? In the end, you got dragged into the world so much that you even became a dark being. We are reincarnations of our originals. However, if your lifestyle turned out differently in this life, shouldn't you have stuck with it?”

”That's right it would have been better if I did that. It would have been better. .” Lyn trailed off, ” But I involved myself. They all kept me out of the dark and didn't tell me anything even though I knew the truth now. They all still tried to protect me and ensure I knew nothing. But that person didn't; he told me everything.”

The first person to tell her everything truthfully was him. It was Kazuya. That's why ”That's why I don't mind. This way, I will be able to protect those dear to me.”

Reiji is quiet for a few minutes before he nodded, ”I see.”

Following morning

Even with Reiji's supervision, Lyn found that nothing had changed. Kazuya agreed to help Princess Eva out though, so having the Knights around was somewhat uncomfortable for the Princess. In the end, she allowed them to stay, but in a restricted area.

”Rhys, why are you staring at me?” Lyn asked.

”Cause your pretty.”

Lyn turned a bright shade of red, ”Gee Rhys get back to work already.” But Lyn knew that Rhys could see it in her face, the blush not dying down at all and her fidgeting nervously.

Whenever she is with Rhys, Lyn doesn't understand what she's doing. Lyn noticed that Rhys had dropped his brush. But she was too fl.u.s.tered to realize that he was right behind her, though.

Rhys wrapped his arms around her and began to inhale her scent. Lyn flinched at the contact of his lips on her neck, ”Rhys wait we can't….were working.”

”Stupid girl, do you think I'll be able to work when you're trying to seduce me? ”Rhys said, he chuckled at her confused expression. He bent down and made his way to her ear, ” Making that sort of face, you're going to drive anyone crazy for you.”

And she still has to deal with this pervert.

However, before he could do anything, the doors opened and in came Beth who saw their position and her eyes twitched in annoyance, ”Rhys, you bastard. While I was slaving away, here you are trying to get lucky.”
