Chapter 208 - Dyed Red (1/2)

”Since you know nothing, I wonder if I should tell you. That man is far more brutal than my brothers and me.”

Brothers? Is he talking about the other two Knights? So that's why they all have a similar vibe despite having a small resemblance to each other. More importantly, Lyn frowned at his words, ”What do you mean by brutal?”

”Then again, the guy beside him was equally bad too. Your hanging around such dangerous men, I don't understand why you find us scary.”

'The guy beside,' at that comment Lyn raised her hand and the next thing she knew she had slapped him. A bright red color appeared on Reiji's cheeks. The man, however, seemed half amused, ”You slapped me. How daring.”

This guy is dangerous, so the lazy atmosphere she felt around him before was a lie? No… That's definitely a part of him. But he is no average guy. Her thoughts broke off when somebody burst into the room and rushed over.

”Rhys!”

Rhys threw his cloak around her head and sent a harsh glare towards Reiji, ”What are you doing?”

”You didn't recognize me at first. So, I thought to play a game with your new toy.”

”Bastard, don't you dare touch her again.”

”Take it easy; I'm not the one who you should be mad at. I'm only following the King's orders.”

”Tsk.”

The King? That young boy asked Reiji to do this? It seems like she can't treat that person as a child. No wonder Princess Eva looked like that. For her, those who still associate with the King are her enemies. It seems like she got herself caught up in a very problematic affair. Lyn deeply sighed.

..

Blood. Soaking into the carpet, and the bedsheets, her skin and staining her lips that had become a scarlet. The room grew blurrier and blurrier as each minute passed, drenched in scarlet, dripping down the corners of her eyes. Was it possible that so much blood could come from one human being?

The red was darkening, mixing with the shadows, with the darkness. It fell across her now, and made its way to the different areas of her body. It even mixed in with the black curse mark, the vines were now stained red. It was then when Lyn realized that she was not alone, that there was somebody else here. A man with a strong blood l.u.s.t.

When his hand reached for her, Lyn shrunk back. This couldn't continue. Her body could not last any longer. If this man touched her in this state, she would surely die. This time, however, those fingers touched her cheek without a hint of menace. She turned her eyes to him then, questioning.

Is it over? Are you satisfied? Somebody was telling her those words mockingly. But Lyn could not see who it was.

Lyn woke up and immediately placed her hand on her head. Something red glinted out of the corner of her eye. Her lungs pumped desperately for air. The red on her finger was screaming at her: Traitor! She shut her eyes, and tried to block it out. She had betrayed him. She….

She did feel weak; she felt so weak. Like her powers had been trained thoroughly. More importantly, she felt sick, her throat - it felt dry. It felt dry, dry like there was something. She placed her hand to her chest. Why was it burning?

Yet...she really didn't feel well. Her body still felt weak ....even right now as she stood up; she felt as though she would fall any second. The brunette leaned on the dresser for support, why did she stand up again? The door she had just been standing before opened in minutes.

Clearing his throat, Shinji looked up at her. ”Are you ok?” He asked, his gruff voice sounded aggravated.

But Lyn knew better. ”I'm fine...I really should get back to work.”

Rhys stepped into the room and saw her leaning desperately to keep her balance. He let out a massive sigh and made his way over. He carefully scooped her up again, and his scent filled her sense of smell. ”- stupid girl, you shouldn't get up. It's not like me to say this, but you look like a wreck. See?”
