Chapter 205 - Time (2/2)

”Ah, no I learned from the soldiers,” Lyn admitted. Kazuya had a bad habit of hiding things from her.

”Huh? Yet you got that much information from it in detail? It was only a short article.”

Yeah but her analytical skills aside, she's always been good at judging people. He's probably forgotten that though. Rhys seems to quickly change the subject though, ” Shall we sit down? Standing around won't do us any good.”

”Yes.”

Lyn sat down next to him, ensuring that there was a distance. Well...even though she knows that there's no way he would do anything to her. She had to admit she was still afraid.

Lyn turned to him slightly and saw that he had brought out the book again and was reading through it intentively. He is quite serious, huh? Come to think of it the place Rhys is going to....focuses on many different courses, huh? Even though he's a prominent military figure, he's still going through regular education. Somehow it was strange. Yet to most people its clearly normal.

Even so that serious look of his, whenever he looks down especially, it always seems to bring out his best features. Gah! What the heck was she doing watching him in that sense? Snap out of it.

It can't be helped, though. She is quite fond of him, so this nervousness and pounding heart is only because of that nostalgic feeling. It has no other meaning than that.

.....

Time that is so precious. Sometimes it goes by far too fast, and sometimes there isn't enough time. The time she spent with Kazuya were definitely the best. Kazuya saw something about her that people often overlooked before.

Lyn fixed her mistakes; she no longer made the same mistakes that she did in the past.

Treasure time you spend with that important person because you never know, when it will be taken away from you. Two people who, if you asked them when they first met, insisted they were going to fall in love with each other would not have believed you. Fall in love? A girl like her? A guy like him?

But for some reasons untold, fate had a way of breaking through that so-called unbreakable thread - and changed it into a thread of fate.

'Finally finished,' Lyn murmured as the last person landed on the ground with a thud. The entire area was covered in dead bodies and severely wounded ones. A heavy strength of blood. Those people who are still alive won't live for long. Whenever she took a life, she would end up feeling bad. Today was no exception.

Lyn could barely stand up. She had to use her blade for support, 'Her vision is getting blurrier by the minute. Is Rhys finished too?' Lyn told Rhys to leave her alone earlier because she understood who they were after.

It must be because of this birthmark. Since that encounter with one of her sister's men, the mark has been acting up whenever she uses magic of any kind. Her thoughts broke off when she hears approaching footsteps, despite her dazed state she could spot maroon colored hair.

”Kazuya?”

A gentle voice, ”Yeah. Good work, my Lyn.”

It's Kazuya, thank goodness. The blade in her hands deactivates, and in a second she falls only to have Kazuya scoop her up. ”You're so careless; I need to lecture you.”

”Ah-huh.”

How strange, even though her entire body feels like it would fall apart - now that she is with Kazuya, she feels a bit better. But she feels so drained; Lyn wanted to stay awake. She wanted to see if Rhys was okay. However, right now, she couldn't control her eyelids from dropping.
