Chapter 188 - Him (2/2)
He's suddenly sweating a lot; he must be panicked.
”Why did you think the Princess was dead?”
”Well. ..”
”The second Princess harmed her cousin and stopped his engagement. Those are the rumors floating around everywhere, right?” Rhys pitched in.
So those rumors are still being spread even after so many years have passed now. This place that's closest to her home is still trapped in this sphere of the past. But really, what stupid rumors. Harmed her cousin because she supposedly liked him. Harmed his fiance too.
How ridiculous, when Allen found out about it, he put a stop to those absurd talk. Nobody should be talking about it in public. There's an official royal edict about it. But it seems like some still speak about it.
”And you, just believed it like that? You didn't think that he was the one who harmed the Princess?”
”Wait.” Okura placed his hand on his forehead. It was clear that the older person was clearly panicked and trying to calm his nerves down. ”I understand things happened. But please look at things from my perspective for a second. If I get too involved, no if I agree to what you're saying I'd get in trouble.”
Lyn immediately understood what he meant. The guy was trying to admit that this place wasn't safe.
”What do you two want?”
”A map of where the tablet is, can you make us one?” Lyn politely asked.
Okatsu frowned, ”I'm sure you realized it when you stepped inside, but the main castle already controls those areas. That's if I do help you, I'll be conspiring an attack with you.”
Despite how normal he sounded, Lyn could sense his fear. Lyn shook her head, ”I'm not trying to stage an attack. The tablet is something important to us, while we can't disclose why we want it. We bear no ill will. Right, now you're the only one I can ask for help. We only need one thing from you, and that is to provide us the map. If you need to use my name to ask permission, then so be it. I don't mind exposing myself to danger for this matter.”
Pupillam seemed surprised, ”Wait, Princess.”
Rhys covered the girl's mouth; he turned to her with a serious expression on his face. For the last few minutes, he had been awfully silent, and Lyn understood why. He was trying to assess the situation, see what she would do. This was the thing she noticed about Rhys. Unlike Kazuya, he would always wait and see until she made the next move.
”It doesn't matter if my name slips, if something goes wrong.”
Lyn doesn't know how many people in the Snow Kingdom know about her. But she is sure that after what happened, people are learning about her.
”Your right, I do talk to him. We frequently exchange letters.”
”A letter? How do you send one without revealing your true identity?” she wonders how her cousin can communicate with Okura despite the restrictions in K castle.
Okura seemed hesitant but nodded, ”We use a certain spell, and since it is written in code, even if people see it they won't know. As you know that guy's people are very good at magic, so there is no chance of it getting lost in transit. If you wish to settle this situation with the tablet, you must ask him for permission since the area is under his jurisdiction. That guy, he...knows you're alive correct?”
Knows she is alive? Lyn recalled what her other cousin said when he dropped by, 'he intends to come here soon, and apologize.'
