Chapter 152 - Dyed Red (2/2)
”Leave without me. I'll deal with this. ”
Such cold sounding words and yet Lyn understood what he was trying to say. The person she wants to see now is Kazuya.
Her older sister was perfect in every way.
She was kind to everyone, and she was practically good at everything. She would achieve those things in the first try to everyone loved her.
As for her? It was like nobody ever needed or noticed her. Then again, with her existence as the cursed child. Who would want to associate with her?
Kazuya is a weird guy; he was pushy and got into her personal space. But at the same time, it didn't seem like he cared about anything. It was like a breath of fresh air to her.
And the air out on the rooftop where they weren't allowed to go was the freshest and purest to her. She found a place she could breathe.
----
Her eyes went wide when he pulled her arm, and before she knew it, they were both in the river. Lyn had spent the last two hours searching for him since Fukami couldn't find him anywhere. Lyn knew about his hiding spots well, since he told them all to her.
Kazuya laughed
”Gee! Why on earth are you laughing for?” she half exclaimed. This isn't funny at all; her clothes got wet.
”Rather, why are you getting so mad for. ”
Is he serious? Lyn continued to splash water in his direction, ” Of course I 'm mad. Why on earth did you pull me into the river?” she trailed off and laughed, ”And I can't believe it. Aha, I don't know anymore. How are you so free?”
And she got caught up, into his free nature.
Lyn's gaze softened, ”Aha, this feels kind of nice,” she pauses when she saw the warm-hearted smile on his face.
”I'm glad you're happy Lyn.”
----
Present
Back then, Lyn couldn't bring herself to ask Kazuya what he was thinking. The words that she swallowed down at her. And from time to time, Lyn felt a sharp pain in her chest. Never once did she think of him as a friend. So when Kazuya asked her out, she immediately agreed. Her decision wasn't abrupt; from the very start, it was meant to be like this. But Lyn always believed that she didn't deserve Kazuya.
Her hands are stained red. Dyed in the color of her enemies, just to keep herself alive - just to continue hiding her existence she's hurt and ended so many lives.
