Chapter 104 - Questioning her heart (2/2)
”You seem so sure of yourself today, Lyn. It's a shame that I can't see your face,” Rhys said with a sly smile on his face.
She knew. She knew that he could tell, even in the dark. 'What an idiot,' Lyn thought. But, when she recalled his reaction earlier, she couldn't help but think. So even Rhys has something he is scared about. She supposes it makes him more human. It's a bit surprising.
”Why are you staring?” Rhys asked.
”I am not staring,” Lyn exclaimed, which only caused him to laugh. This is so unfair, didn't he just claim moments ago that he couldn't see her face? How would he know he is staring? It really does seem like she can't keep calm when she is around this man.

Genesis Inn - Suuri Town -
In the end, the one who came back in a hurry was Beth; it seemed like she knew about Rhys being afraid of the dark and was worried that something happened. When Lyn watched their interaction, she couldn't help but think that they looked good together and yet Lyn could tell. 'Rhys doesn't treat Beth any differently than other women,' Lyn thought. For Rhys, Beth is just like all the other girls out there. Lyn wondered why. That woman has shown more than enough dedication and love to last a lifetime. If Rhys can't see something so obvious, then Lyn pondered about his so-called feelings for her.
”You, like that guy, don't you?” Kyou commented as he put on his jacket, ”Or you're at least fond of him to a certain degree.”
Lyn blinked, surprised at Kyou's deduction. Is he serious? Out of all the things he concluded this was it? Like Rhys, huh? That's impossible since she has Kazuya. Lyn knew that the like Kyou was speaking about was of the romantic kind than the friend one.
”But before you answer that, why are you here again?”
This person is her eldest Brothers head Knight, Kyou. Because of specific reasons, Lyn came here.
”Hm? Why you ask, I have some time before the next meeting. So I was thinking of taking a nap,” Lyn casually said. The Inn Kyou was staying at was an inn built for members of the elite of this town, so it was rather lavish in contrast to the inn she was staying at. Not that Lyn cared about riches or anything. But at least in this place, people aren't staring at her like she is some sort of rarity.
Kyou deeply sighed, ”That's fine and all. But should a girl really be waltzing in a guys room so easily?” he shifted closer and grabbed her arm, ”I'll attack you.”
Lyn rolled her eyes, ”I'll tell brother.”
”Hey now, your eldest brother was the one who sent me here. If he knows I've been fooling around with you, he will kill me.”
”You'd deserve that,” Lyn trailed off and sighed. She should have known better. There is no way her Eldest Brother, who is so overprotective of her, let her go on a journey with two men she just knew for two months. At the beginning, Lyn wasn't sure if she just saw things, but the other day Lyn confirmed it was Kyou.
”Besides, you don't see me as a woman, so I don't have to worry,” Lyn said.
This was one of the reasons why she came here; she wanted to get away from Rhys for a bit to regain her peace of mind.
