Chapter 79 - Normal Worries of A Sixteen Year Old (1/2)

Lyn had to admit that his question caught her off guard, weren't they just discussing serious matters? Why is he bringing this up now? She looked him up and down, is he joking around with her again? Lyn patiently waited for Rhys to say something like he is joking. But that never came. Instead, she felt something there, something serious, ”Why, do you want to know?”

Rhys smiled, ”Something wrong? We do spend a lot of time with each other, so isn't it natural I want to know what you think of me? and what relationship we have?”

Sure it sounded all logical now that he explained it to her. But something seemed wrong to her. Not understanding what that something was, Lyn rolled in bed, so she was facing the other side. It's still early; she could use some more sleep.

Still, Lyn knew that Rhys wouldn't give up with just this. She would have to think of an excuse, no an explanation. If she just gave him an answer, then she wouldn't have to fuss about it like this.

...

For the last few hours since she woke up, she had been alone with Rhys. Where was her boyfriend during this time? Completely fast asleep, when Lyn checked on him after breakfast, he wouldn't move an inch. Seeing how tired he was, Lyn decided to leave him alone. Rhys and her looked around the inn, and no sooner had they sat down for lunch did she see the maroon colored hair that belonged to her boyfriend at the door.

Kazuya didn't notice that she had gone. He slept right up until lunchtime, just as the inn staff placed the dishes on the table. Kazuya walked into the room. Kazuya ran his hand through his hair as a yawn passed his lips, ”Morning.”

”It's lunchtime idiot,” Rhys scolded, ”Do you think we're on vacation or something?”

Rhys was placing some food on her plate and talking about nutrients and being exhausted after last night. Lyn, however, couldn't care less about Rhys right now as she focused on Kazuya's appearance. His hair was slightly messy, and his clothes crumpled in certain areas.

Oh, he has bed hair. It looks cute, Lyn extended her hands out, and Kazuya smiled as he sat down next to her and pulled her into his arms, the second he did she felt warm, ”Morning my cute Lyn,”

'My' and 'Cute,' Lyn flushed red at his words and laughed, ”Ah-huh, morning,” even though Rhys gave her that compliment earlier. Lyn didn't feel this way; she felt embarrassed. But she didn't feel such happiness till Kazuya said it.

He brushed his forehead against hers, ”Do you have a fever? You seem hot.”

”She has one, so I would suggest staying here for a few days.”

Kazuya nodded, ”That would be better.”

”Ah, but,” Lyn protested, ”Shouldn't we get going?” It was already bad enough that she was a hindrance to them, let alone delay the journey.

Kazuya frowned, ”But you're sick.”

”A light fever.”

”For now, it was high earlier,” Rhys interjected, and Lyn shot him a glare. She was planning on keeping that from Kazuya, but now Rhys has said it there's no use in pretending.

Lyn nodded, ”Ah-huh, but it's just the effect of my birthmark,” she raised her sleeve to show the mark on her hand, ”See, when it glows this color. It's okay to move around,” Lyn didn't realize that by doing this, she just caused the other two to panic. Rhys abruptly stood up and made his way to the door; she watched him puzzled, ”Um?”
