80 Beginning of another (2/2)
I need to know the situation better. Did Wetho betray Ravel.... No, every one of us out of her own volition or is there more to it.

Vulki jerks her wings in a way to catch everyones attention. She can just fly overhead so she should be fine..... Kess can just hide underground I guess. I put on the cloak and mask that Inival hands me.

A few mages have a much smaller circle set up. It seems the reason as to why teleportation circles are generally larger is so that they can use more common resources but in larger quantities. If one like this where to be built, It would need rarer more valuable resources. Resources that are limited.
As the circle is activated, the scenery around us changes. I've never seen the capital so this is quite a site. It's not in a good state for sure. Massive blue stone buuldings reach as far as the eye can see. Most of the have at least some form of damage. A few that appear to be temples have been levelled..... Not good. smoke is rising from many different areas. Hmmm???.... Screams break out every now and then....
”Good. You guys are here. Lady Ravel wants to see you two.” Royal Guard
A guard walks up to the two of us in full black and gold armor. It seems to be a special type that they use very rarely. I look around and notice that Kess has already burrowed into the ground while Vulki must have taken to the skies. Set is still attached to me as well in case of an emergency.
”We are close to the palace so hopefully we can get there without interruption. The capital is in choas. Luckily the Union and the Black Iron Pyre are destroying each other at the moment. Watch out for any people with an upside down crown on them. They are part of the rebelling nobles.” Royal Guard
After following the royal guard for a while we reach a gate that leads to the royal palace.
”We can't go through there. As you can see rubble is blocking the way so we have to use a tunnel. I'm not sure if you heard since a lot was going on.... Captain Wetho tried to kill Lady Ravel at a critical moment. We fucking had the nobles. Not just the Captain.... A few of my friends turned out to be traitors. No.... They may have never been my friends. Captain Wetho may never have been one of us..... Fucking nobles..... We're here.” Royal Guard
The guard talked with us on the way to the inside of the palace. It seems that he is rather upset. Probably a great portion of the guard are. People that you knew for many years just turning on you is an aweful thing. We eventually reach a room. It's quite dark and has a gloomy atmosphere hanging over it.
”Not possible. Wetho..... Why? You were loyal. 85. Now 10..... Was she a lie? Was this all a delusion? Something that only existed in my head but, didn't follow along with physical reality? I have to know. I have to.” Ravel
I can hear her through the door.
*sigh
”She is unwilling to talk with Wetho to learn the reasons for all of this. After the betrayal Wetho was left.... In a miserable state. She reverted.... The nobles abandoned her as she lost most of her strength. She is laying chained up in the dungeon.... Please bring lady Ravel to see Wetho. I beg of you!” Royal Guard
I have had terrible opinions on drow in the past. I know this guy went through the conversion process and became an elf. Even still, it would take time for someone's mindset to change..... I've talked to a lot of different drow as I converted them. Learned their views. Not one. Not one would kneel as he is and beg for another out of true sincerity. I can't see his face through the helmet but, I know he is tearing up based on his tone.
