”So, do you know why I have called all of you here” Vivec

”I'm guessing it has to do with Das Vola Forest” Sigrid

”Ohh? You already know? Interesting as you-” Vivec

”Cut the shit Vivec, what is so important that you had to summon all of us here?” Ivan

”Ahem, as you all know Das Vola forest is a forbidden territory that housed a certain creature. Not too long ago we managed to poison this creature's spouse with gods poison. In the end the creature was poisoned as well killing it. Since then not much has happened in that forest although, it still remains forbidden.” Vivec

Seriously, this guy likes to talk. Calling our old protector a creature. Sure she had us give sacrifices, but, we never had to worry about invaders. Now the fallen dwarves are causing countless problems.

”However, we had left a couple scouts in that area just in case. It seems that the forest is changing. A cluster of treants was wiped out and harpies no long fly about the forest. There have been sightings of weird abominations and, worst of all.... Spiders....” Vivec

Shit! Dont tell me some of the old protector's children are still around! They weren't hybrids but monsters created from a human and a spider. I've never fought one personally but, it was said that even three of them could wipe out our settlement. Thankfully the protector's madness drove her to slaughter her own children. We confirmed that they were dead. We can't have missed any of them.

”We confirmed her children were dead.... Are they undead now?” Fellia

That's the only conclusion I can make. There should be no way any of her children could have survived her attack. Even if one supposedly did, it should die from the poison she filled the nest with.

”Fellia, you know that they couldn't turn into undead.” Vivec

How then.

”We will send more scouting parties out. We shall also deploy three of you to oversee the issue. This must be dealt with quickly. We can't let the fallen dwarves know about this or they may try to take advantage of the situation.” Vivec

In the end, Sigrid, Felix and me were chosen to handle the issue. I'm hoping that it has no relation with the protector, but that is impossible. For spider monsters, which are completely foreign to this area, to suddenly appear where the protector was located.....

Sigrid seems to know something. I heard that she has minor prophetic abilities. Whether that is true or not is hard to tell. Time to gather up a scouting force.

After waking up I had Kess come with me to the field in front of the nest. Her spiderlings had to carry her out as she can't move very quickly on her own. They seem to have gained the ancient aspect as well. Anyways I wanted see Kess' new abilities.
