Chapter 72 - Distress (2/2)
She did not have much faith in relationsh.i.p.s because of her parents, but whenever she thought about the fact that this outstanding man was hers, she could not help but feel pride deep within.
How long had she felt like this? They had not known each other for long, so it was quite shocking that she had already fallen so far, so fast.
Seeing the unshed tears in Yu Huiyin's eyes, Xie Jingyu panicked. Both of them completely ignored Bai Lian, who was by the side, staring at them with shock and pain in her expression.
Xie Jingyu lowered his head and gently kissed the tears that started falling from her eyes, before he pressed her closer to his chest. ”Don't cry dearest, please don't cry.”
At the current point in time, Xie Jingyu was unaware of what he had done to cause her such grievances. He just knew that he blamed himself too much for it.
Yu Huiyin buried her face in Xie Jingyu's chest, and she wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing herself against his sturdy body, feeling secure, and calm slowly returned to her.
It was unknown how long Yu Huiyin and Xie Jingyu were standing there, embracing one another and feeling better, but when Yu Huiyin finally managed to calm herself down, she looked around.
It was embarrassing that she had suddenly become so emotional, and she felt quite bad.
It was never her intention to cause problems for Xie Jingyu, but the moment she saw him with another woman, a woman who clearly liked him, she suddenly realized that she could not be without him any longer.
Xie Jingyu had become the pillar of support to her, he had become the man she had fallen in love with, but would it last? She was scared of getting hurt again. Not even her father wanted her, and he had children with at least two mistresses while still being married to her mother.
Not to mention, nowadays, divorces were not so uncommon in the public as they were back in the day. But she was starting to feel greedy. She wanted Xie Jingyu only to herself.
”Dearest?” Xie Jingyu called out when he felt that she had stopped trembling and that she was just cuddling against his chest.
”I'm sorry,” she said with a slightly hoarse voice, and she raised her head, her eyes red and swollen, but she did not look ungraceful. Instead, she was so pitiful that any man would be struck with the urge to protect her.
”Don't be sorry,” Xie Jingyu quickly said, as he led Yu Huiyin towards the couch. It was at this point in time he noticed the strange expression on Bai Lian's face, and he could not help but frown.
”Why are you still here?”
