Chapter 42 - "I Always Have Time For You" (1/2)
Yu Huiyin walked towards the study room, but the moment she reached the door, it opened, causing her to take a few steps back, stabilizing the congee in her hands in the process.
Xie Jingyu looked perplexed as he opened the door, and the first thing he found was Yu Huiyin standing outside the door.
He was surprised, and his eyes widened in shock as he saw her. Reaching out his hand, he steadied Yu Huiyin.
”You came for me?” he asked, his voice containing a bit of excitement. She was worried about him! This was a new feeling of happiness that rose in his heart, and a smile started spreading on his lips.
”You haven't eaten dinner.” Yu Huiyin was suddenly a little embarrassed by her actions. Did he think that she was too meddlesome like this?
But then she saw the smile that had risen on his face, and she felt her suspended heart relax, her face also blooming with a smile.
”I haven't had time,” Xie Jingyu said regretfully and shook his head. But then his eyes landed on the bowl in Yu Huiyin's hands, his pupils constricting. Had Yu Huiyin made food for him because she was worried?
Yu Huiyin noticed his eyes landing on the bowl, and she reached out her hands. ”I am not very good at cooking, but I know how to make congee. I would have made noodles for you, but considering that you haven't had anything to eat for so long, I feel it is better to get some congee first.”
Xie Jingyu did not care about how the food tasted, the fact that she had cooked something for him was already enough to make him feel as if he was walking on clouds.
Xie Jingyue instantly opened the door into the study and let Yu Huiyin enter with him.
The study was clean and neat, everything was in a precise position, and the desk held a computer and a laptop. There was a couch by the window, and Xie Jingyu asked her to take a seat.
He sat next to her, placing the bowl on the table, and began eating it slowly.
The taste was not especially delicious for someone used to eat food prepared by a chef, but it was not bad either, and knowing that she had made it herself, it suddenly tasted as good as the most delicious meal he had ever had.
While Xie Jingyu was eating, Yu Huiyin looked around the study curiously. The study resembled Xie Jingyu, classy and sophisticated.
The meal was eaten fast, and Xie Jingyu finally felt some warmth in his stomach. He had been too focused on working hard and had not noticed that he was famished. When he thought about it, he had not gotten anything to eat since he had breakfast that morning.
