Chapter 7 - Wifey (1/2)
”What is the meaning of this?” Yu Huiyin took a deep breath to calm herself down as she looked at Xie Jingyu. She thought that he might have given her the wrong contract, but upon closer inspection, she saw her name printed on the contract.
”It is the contract you just signed, wifey,” Xie Jingyu said with a smile on his face, his words causing Yu Huiyin to almost faint in shock and anger.
”You!” she exclaimed and tried to stand up, but the moment she rose to her feet, everything spun around her, she was still affected by the anesthetic, and her body was weak after being hit by a bullet.
Xie Jingyue saw her stagger as she stood up, and his face, which was filled with smugness, instantly turned severe, as he rushed to her side and supported her.
But unexpectedly, she flung his arms away, her eyes were ablaze with anger, and she was trembling.
”Dearest, don't worry, I'll never force you to do anything you don't want to,” Xie Jingyu said as he observed her nervously. ”I will be a responsible husband. As long as we are married, I will be faithful to you, and I will not find a mistress outside.
”You need a job, and I need a wife to settle the old man at home, this is perfect. I will even give you a large amount of money when we divorce so you can live life pleasantly later on as well.”
This was Xie Jingyu's real thoughts. He had no ulterior motives. It had been many years that his grandfather had forced him to get married, but he had never found a woman his heart beats for.
Now that he had found one that intrigued him, he could use her as a shield, and at the same time, help her out.
Was it that bad to get married to him? He was the wealthiest and most handsome tycoon of the entire country!
”I am not interested in getting married,” Yu Huiyin sneered, but Xie Jingyu just smiled at her. ”You signed the papers,” he said.
Feeling deeply regretful, Yu Huiyin tightly pursed her lips as she stood up from the bed, steadying herself on the wall by her side.
Seeing her so stubborn, a strange feeling welled up within Xie Jingyu's heart, but before he could grasp hold of it, it vanished.
”What am I supposed to tell my family?” Yu Huiyin asked, exasperated. She could not just get married like that.
”I will give you a second job,” Xie Jingyu said after thinking a bit. ”I will make you my assistant. I could make you my secretary, but I doubt you have much experience with that, and it's better to be an assistant as I can bring you around with me anywhere I go.”
