Chapter 6 - Contract (1/2)

Xie Jingyu heard her words, and he was not too surprised. In the doc.u.ments he had received, it stated that she was very close to her family. It was only natural to worry about their well being.

”If you want to call someone, you can borrow my phone,” Xie Jingyu said, as he reached out his phone to her, but Yu Huiyin shook her head, ”they got no phone at home,” she said.

Although it was evident that the reason they got no phone was because they were poor, she did not seem embarrassed by it, nor troubled. It was as if it was the most common thing in the world.

Her strong personality was something that made him admire her. ”I see, then give me their address and I will send someone to inform them.”

”Oh, no, please don't do that!” Yu Huiyin was scared, silly. If someone went to tell her grandfather that she had gotten shot, then her future would be very bleak.

”But won't your family worry about you?” Xie Jingyu asked, very confused as to why she would not accept his goodwill. It was rare for him to help others, so why wouldn't she accept his help?

Yu Huiyin looked at the guy and said in a flat tone, ”he hates it when I fight and get injured. Now I have been admitted to the hospital for being shot. He will never let me out of the flat again.”

”Then let us come up with an excuse for you?” Xie Jingyu said. ”I can send a man there, saying that you have gotten a new job and that this job requires you to be staying over for a few days.”

”I will be busted when I lose my jobs and won't have any money to give my family,” Yu Huiyin said with a sigh. She was not regretting saving this man, nor were she blaming him; she was just wallowing in her own self-pity.

”I can give you a job as a thank you for helping me,” Xie Jingyu suddenly said as he gestured for another man to step forward. The person was his assistant, and he had been present all the time, but he had tried to become a wallflower.

He wanted to roll his eyes to Xie Jingyu. He was the one who had created the contract, how was this possibly a job opportunity?

But he said nothing and handed over the doc.u.ments to Xie Jingyu. Knowing that his boss was black-bellied was nothing new.

Yu Huiyin, on the other hand, was very excited. ”A job? What kind of job?”

”Something like an assistant,” Xie Jingyu said.

”What is the pay like?”

”fifty thousand yuan a month,”

”that's so much!” Yu Huiyin was shocked. Fifty thousand yuan a month? She would be able to make her family move into a much better house and give them a much better life.

But she knew that when something seemed to be too good to be true, then it was. Narrowing her eyes, she glanced at Xie Jingyu, but he looked very innocent.
