Chapter 5 - A VIP Ward (2/2)

Her eyes were filled with confusion as she looked from on to another, wondering what was going on. Her brain had not reacted just yet, and she was still addled due to the long sleep.

The adorable look made Xie Jingyu chuckle slightly; his laugh was like a sound that brought her back to her mind.

”Where... Where am I?” she asked with a slightly hoarse voice. She coughed slightly, feeling that her throat was parched.

Hearing and seeing her problem, Xie Jingyu quickly went to a small table where water and other drinks were waiting. Here he found a glass and poured a glass of water.

Afterward, he returned to the stunned Yu Huiyin and placed it at her lips, allowing her to gulp down the water.

As the water moistened up her parched throat, she felt much better, but she still felt a throbbing pain in her shoulder and a slight headache.

She looked around where she was and was shocked. Although she had assumed she was in a hospital, this did not look nor smell like the hospital at all.

It was a small suite; there was a bedroom next to her; she was currently lying on a hospital bed that was in the living room. There was even a massive flatscreen smart TV.

”Where am I?” She asked again, frowning as she was confused.

”At First Hospital,” Xie Jingyu answered honestly, but his answer made Yu Huiyin confused. This was, in fact, a hospital?

”This is a VIP ward,” Xie Jingyu answered when he saw her confusion. She had heard that hospitals had VIP wards, but even though she had been to the hospital numerous times, she had never seen a VIP ward before.

”That's way too expensive!” she could not help but exclaim. She had never been to a VIP ward before, but it could not be cheap.

”You got injured because of me; the least I can do is give you the proper treatment.” Xie Jingyu said it casually, but it made Yu Huiyin understand that the man was rich.

”My grandfather is going to kill me,” Yu Huiyin muttered to herself when she realized how late it was. It was already closer to the morning than night.

It had been eleven at night when she encountered Xie Jingyu, and after that was the time she had been lying on the ground, transported in the ambulance, operated on, and finally the hours it took for her to wake up.

He was likely to have been waiting up for her, but she did not return home. This was enough to make her heart ache with guilt.
