”You are my eldest son, you should know better, yet you have no idea what the real problem is, do you?”

He has always been proud of his son, but sometimes, it upsets him that his son overlooked these problems. 'It seems like I have failed to teach you how to be cautious, Ziegrel.' He inwardly said.

”Real problem? Father, I know that the Coleman family is rising in power as the days passes by, but they can never compare to us. Besides, that useless woman is over there. She may have achieved a lot of things these past years, but she will eventually fail like she always does.” The story behind Ziegrel and Mary is not any ordinary siblings who fell apart.

From the beginning, they were both separated. Ziegrel was treated like a precious prince, while Mary, on the other hand, is treated lower than a slave. Ziegrel saw how Mary was treated. He did not feel any remorse towards her. In fact, he treated her the same way as to how others are towards Mary.

In his eyes, Mary will be the forever failure of the Ricci family.

”Walter, your son is right. You are only wasting your time worrying about those people.” The matriarch, Ziegrel's mother, suddenly appeared. She is the main reason why Mary is known as the black sheep of the family. As for why she made Mary have that title, no one knows even Mary does not have any idea why.

Walter glances at his wife, and he sighed. His son is not the only one. His wife, too, is also like that. His wife is supposed to be on the same page as he is. Though he cannot blame her for having that kind of thinking. After all, they have been living like they have everything and that no one will be able to take their crown away for so many years.

Walter wonders when will his son and wife realize that the Coleman family is a threat to them. Right now, they do not have enough power to go against them, but they are steadily growing in power. There will be a day that the Coleman family will be on the same level as them.

'It would have been better if I eliminate those pests, but there are risks that I don't want to ignite.' He inwardly said. Because of the risks that he is thinking, Walter, is left with no choice but to let the Coleman family do whatever they want.

”It would have been nice if you are not acting like your son, Wife,” Walter said. In his marriage with her, there was no love. The only connection between them is that they both are ambitious and that power is everything to them. Even though there is no love between them, it did not stop them from getting along.

”How can I not act like this when I'm right? You're worrying too much, Husband. Are you regretting letting that black sheep go? Isn't it a bit too late on that concept?” Years ago, it was her initiated to make Marry suffer. Her husband did not care at all. Walter only watched on the sidelines, and whenever he sees Mary suffering, he only looks at her with scorn plastered on his face.

”Regretting? I don't. I believe that letting her go is the best thing we did back then.” Walter said nonchalantly. He believed that if Mary continues living under the Ricci family's roof, Mary will only bring shame to their prestigious name. Though, the only regret that he has is letting Mary live.

'I should have killed her at that time.'

”I've been wondering all this time, Father...” Ziegrel suddenly spoke. ”Why are we even bothering the Colemans in the first place anyway? Didn't we made a deal with them years ago that we don't get in the way of each other's path?”

The Ricci family might not seem like it, but they always honor every deal that they make. When Ziegrel found out that his father wants to break the agreement, he immediately thought that his father has a reason for it.

He has been waiting for his father to explain it to him, but there is still no word coming from his father. Now that they are talking about Mary's family, it would not be hard to be open up such a topic that he has been curious about.

”Because your mother and I decided to have the twins lead our family to a brighter and successful future. After getting them here, I will forge the twins to only care about the Ricci family and nothing else.” Ziegrel flinched when he heard that response.
