”Done joking around. Why did you send Leon to that mission? From what I heard about that man, he is just some spoiled rich guy. What is it that you want from him, Arion?” No matter how many times Mary read the file, she sees no importance from the guy.

”Despite that, he is somewhat important. Not too long ago, I received a report from one of my men that he somehow got some connections with the Ricci family.” Arion is not sure if the information he got is accurate or not. The only way he can think of is sending Leon there and getting an answer to know the truth.

”The Ricci family, huh. You must be tired, Arion.” Mary felt bad. She is connected to that family by blood, yet the help she gives to Arion is not enough to destroy those hateful people.

”Mary, don't make that face. Even if you can do more to help, I won't let you.” Arion said. No matter how many times Mary tells him that she has gotten over her trauma, he can tell that she is still affected.

”Why not? I know them more than you know them. If you could-”

Mary tried to persuade Arion, but Arion cuts her off. ”Enough of this, Mary. I do not want to speak about this with you. Whenever we talk about them, you always lose your composure and make irrational decisions. You want to take them down with brute force, but that hasn't worked for years. Right now, what we need is precaution, and I need you to have that if you want to discuss this with me.”

Arion has never been this stern with Mary, and he no reason before, but right now, he has. If this will make them argue, then so be it. He will harden himself and will not let this fight affect him. Mary's feelings about this are not for debate.

Mary shuts her mouth. Every word that Arion utters is very reasonable. However, she will not admit it because of her pride.

”Fine. I will say no more about it.” It is not like her to back down that easily, but if she continues on, she and her husband will not find any agreement and will only lead to more fights in the future. She might as well stay quiet and only speak when it is absolutely necessary.

Mary left, and not a moment later, Arion is receiving another call from Leon. He answered it, and his mood slightly enlightened. ”Good. Come back here immediately. I need your full report right away.”

For a moment, he was worried that Leon won't be able to give him any useful information, but things have changed big time.

”Nathalia, I want you to dig any dark secrets Veronica has and reveal it to the world. Everyone needs to know what kind of a snake she is!” Lannie said with a mischievous smirk plastered on her face.

Nathalia sat on a chair as she watched Lannie laugh like a madwoman. Soon after she arrived in Lannie's room, Lannie gave her the technologies she needed to dig up Veronica's dark secrets. She never thought that she would skip her training just to dig up someone's secrets.

Not that she is bothered by it because Veronica gets on her nerves, but Nathalia could have used her time to improve her physical skills. ”Remind me again, how you manage to make me do this?”

”You want a reminder? Fine. Veronica, that snake is getting on my nerves, and she is way too shameless! The other day, she came here with her father, and shamelessly revealed their true purpose in front of my family! Wanting to become my brother's bride? Heh! So shameless!” Lannie angrily said. She could have said more, but she doesn't want to work herself up too much.

She needs to conserve her energy for a much better purpose, and that would be watching Veronica's misery.

Listening to that, Nathalia questioned herself. 'In which part of that reasoning, did I got to convince to this again?'

Since she is already in Lannie's room, she might as well finish the job. Nathalia sighed and started to type on the computer. As she did that, she sees quite a lot of interesting stuff in Veronica's information.

”Wow. This woman sure is quite unique, in a terrible way, I mean.” Nathalia mumbled, but Lannie manages to hear that.

With curiosity, Lannie sat right next to Nathalia and peek at what she is looking at. ”I am at a loss of words. I know she is shameless, but I didn't think that she is that bad. Like, that girl is crazy!”

”Honestly, I'm quite curious how her father managed to keep this as a secret when she visited the hospital a lot of times and have hurt a lot of people physically.” No matter how powerful Veronica's father is, Nathalia believes that this kind of event can't be a secret for a very long time, yet this has been kept for years and up until now.
