Chapter 516 - Revenge 517: Cant Be Both At The Same Time (1/2)
”Hey, Arion. You need to stop right now.” Mary glared at her husband. She doesn't want any discord in the family while still, some problems are currently happening and needed to be solved. ”If you two want to talk about that topic, do it after our current problem is solved.”
”Fine.” Without another word, Arion turned around. If his father only talks about how much he opposes the plan, he will not waste his time listening to him.
Mary watches Arion walk away from them, and she can't help but sigh. She turns around and faces Marcus. ”Father, tell me, what is the problem here? The real problem, I mean.”
He once was in the same position as her and her husband. It should not be hard for Marcus to understand why Arion and her have to decide to go with that plan.
”Mary, I don't want either you and that stubborn son of mine to make decisions that you both will regret later on. I understand why, but outside of being the leader of the organization, it is such a bad idea to put the twins at risk.” Marcus understands that he should not be saying this to Mary because of his own mistakes, but the twins are still his family.
He is not ready for another member of his family, especially if he will lose them because of some mission. His deceased wife will never forgive him if he let things go as it is.
”Yes, Arion and I are fully aware that we might regret it. But we're not going to back away. It's the only option we have in such a short amount of time.” Mary sat down at the chair in front of Marcus, and then she looks up the sky. She is not stupid. She knows the risks she is taking. There is no need for Marcus to repeat it over and over again in front of her.
”Say that everything went well, but losing the twins' trust is not okay. What are you going to do about it then?” The twins might be able to forgive their mother right away, but their father? It's hard to tell.
They grew up without Arion. The twins got to know about their father because of the stories they heard from the grown-ups, but they don't know the real Arion.
Aaron is careful around his father. The distance between them is still vast. As for Anna, she is closer to her father, but that doesn't mean that she has entirely accepted her father. Marcus is sure that Arion already knew that fact, then why Arion is still pushing towards that risky plan?
”It's hard to say what I should do when the time comes, but I know my children better than anybody in this world. They are not like Arion and James. They are way more special than your children, Father.”
Marcus sighed. It seems like talking to them about their plan is no use. All he can do for them is to hope that everything should end well.
”I guess I can agree with you on that part. The twins sure are special.” Marcus smiled at the way the twins are now. They have grown so well, and surprisingly, they are better than he was back when he was their age.
”Those two like to make their move, make their own decision. I sure hope that the twins won't push themselves too hard just because they want everyone around them to acknowledge them.” The only thing that worries Mary is that Aaron and Anna are working way too hard to make those people in the organization to recognize them as the rightful heirs.
”You can't blame them for that. You and Arion have quite the reputation, and they want to show at least that they can be as capable as you two are.” Marcus can relate to how the twins felt. In the business world, his father was a remarkable businessman. He worked so hard to be put in the same stage as his father, to make the people around him stop comparing him to his father.
After he had achieved all of that, it was the best feeling he ever had. He made a name for himself. He is now a man who can stand up all on his own and not just some son of a great business person.

After an hour of talking to Marcus, Mary decided to look for the twins. ”Butler, is the twins still up or no?”
”I believe so. I saw the Young Mistress going to the Young Master's room earlier, and since then, I haven't seen her. Do you want me to call them to see you?”
”No. I'll go to where they are. You go and take a rest. You need to be more aware of your health. You're not that young anymore, Butler.” Mary worriedly said to him.
The Butler faintly smiled and said, ”I may be old, but that doesn't mean I'm weak.”
