Chapter 390 - Revenge 391: The Most Wicked One (2/2)

While Martha is explaining the whole situation to the twins, Marcus reached out to one of the bookshelves and picked up a certain book. It's a book that his father once gave to him to read, and it's the same book that he gave to his son, Arion, to read. Now, it's the twins' turn.

As soon as he is right next to the twins, Marcus hand over the book to Aaron and said, ”I want you and your sister to read this and solve the puzzle.” Aaron gave him a face and knew exactly what Aaron is thinking. It's the same reaction Arion gave to him back then. ”Don't worry, it's a fun puzzle. It'll be worthwhile.”

”Now that I already told you two when everything is going to start, you two may go now. I'm sure that your back-from-the-dead father is waiting to have a hug from his children.” Although it's clear on her tone that she's still upset about Arion's sudden comeback, she wasn't able to hide the fact that she still cares about Arion.

With just a nod, the twins went on their way and left the two elders along in the room.

When Marcus and Martha couldn't hear the twins' footsteps anymore, Martha is the one who broke the silence, ”You didn't announce to the other elders which one of the twins is going to be the heir of our family, Marcus.”

”It doesn't matter if I announce it to them or not because earlier, I saw in their expressions that they are satisfied with both of the twins. To them, it didn't matter who is the heir between the twins.” The twins' performance earlier impressed most of the loyal elders and they have no qualms in which one of the twins will be the heir because both twins proved themselves.

”But even so, the heir has already been decided, is it not?”

”Martha, is there even a need for me to answer that question?” Marcus' granddaughter, Anna, already made it clear that she no intention of becoming an heir, and by default, Aaron wins.

”You sure have very interesting grandchildren, Marcus.” Martha now wonders for how long will the twins keep her entertained.

”Yes. But as for James, what are you really planning to do with him? I'm sure you have a reason for this.” Marcus didn't say it out loud earlier, but he is sure that even though Martha is concerned about his feelings, that doesn't mean she doesn't have a deeper meaning to everything that she's doing.

Between him and Martha, Martha is the most wicked one. Everything is planned.

”Mom, what are you doing outside?”

Anna was looking all over the place for her mother, but she couldn't find her. Leon informed her that her mother is in the garden, she immediately went there. When she saw her worry is written on Anna's expression. Her mother looks so sad, and she wants to know why.

”I'm just taking some fresh air. The Old Mansion is suffocating me.”
