Chapter 357 - Revenge 358: A New Pal (1/2)
”Change his mind?” Aaron scoffed and that made James frown. ”Uncle James, grandfather will never change his mind once he sees my performance. After all, it's all about how I do well in this training. I'm pretty sure you know that very well.”
After hearing that James' old wound opened. The words his father said to him years ago is once again invading his mind. For his father, everything is about performance? Of course, it is. His brother, Arion, performed the best that is why Arion became the heir instead of him.
However, despite that fact, James still believes that is not the real reason why he did not become the heir. To him, the real reason is that he was not a Coleman blood, to begin with. His father did not want him to take over their family business because he is only an adopted child.
A child who does not have a single drop of Coleman blood in his veins.
James clenches his fists in anger. Every time he sees Aaron, it always reminds him of Arion's face and it always reminds him of how he was defeated. And by all means, he wants to do whatever it takes to take what's theirs.
”Of course, I knew that. Father always likes the best performance out of everyone.” Even now, James still tries his best to show his best performance to his father, but it seems like none of his performance is getting through his father. ”Although that's the case for you, young man, that does not mean that Father won't expect any disappointment from you.”
”Uncle, if I may ask, in all the things that I've done during my training under you, in what way am I disappointing?” While he is trying to find evidence for his uncle's betrayal to the family, he is also working hard to prove to everyone that he is not taking advantage of his title as an heir.
James is tongue-tied. He didn't know what to say. To all the tasks he is giving to Aaron, there is no single mistake that Aaron has done. If he says something that Aaron did make a mistake there are going to be a lot of bad whispers about him and he wouldn't like that to happen.
”See, uncle? Don't say that I'm doing something that will disappoint my grandfather because you and I know that I had not done a single thing.” If he could laugh out loud, then he would do it without any restraint. His uncle is making a face that is making him wanna laugh.
”Go and do your tasks, young man,” James said as soon as he feels like he is about to say something that may go against him. Aaron is a tricky young man and whatever he finds, Aaron will report everything to his parents or to his sister who's the most trickier one to deal with.
”With pleasure, my dear uncle.” With a smirk on his face, Aaron turned his body around and left his uncle's office.
As soon as Aaron left the office, he saw a man in a suit, a mysterious looking man. That man looks at him and stops in front of him. ”Are you Aaron Coleman?”
”Yes. That I am. Is there anything that I can help you with?” Aaron spoke politely.
The man scoffed and smiled at him, but it's not a smile that's really very pleasing in the eye. ”Everything's fine, young man. I'm just here for your uncle and speaking of your uncle, I heard a lot about you from him.”
Aaron looks at him, and suspicions are making him think that this man in front of him has a deep connection with his dear uncle. 'Oh dear uncle, you're making things more entertaining than I thought.'
He actually thought that his uncle would be more careful now that he is training under him, but obviously, that is not the case. ”Is that so? I hope that uncle is saying good things about me.” If this man is playing fake in front of him, then he, Aaron, can also do it without a doubt. After all, his dear sister thought him how to act fake to others he does not like.
”Of course, he is.” The man patted Aaron's shoulder and head on towards James' office.
Aaron brushes off to where the man patted him and scoffed. He took out his phone and gave his sister a call. As soon as Anna answered the call, Aaron immediately told him what they should do next.
”Dear sister, we have a new pal and I think we should start investigating him.” He said playfully.
