Chapter 229 - Revenge 229: She Is Already Involved (1/2)

”Well, young man, you sure like to work things fast, huh?” Marcus said with a smirk on his face. Seeing Kyle at this moment made Marcus remembers the time he had when he was courting his wife. Frequently visiting her, pestering her to say the sweet word of yes.

Such times he wanted to look back and laugh at the stupid things he had done just to make his wife smile. He'd also be hating himself for making her cry at times.

Looking at Kyle made Marcus wonder what kind of tactics Kyle has on his mind. Would he do something stupid just to get his granddaughter's attention? Just thinking about makes him want to see that personally, and it might even make him laugh.

Kyle a faked cough two times, and said, ”I actually came to ask your granddaughter about something.”

Hearing that made Marcus looks at him with his left brow rose up, ”My granddaughter?” Marcus glances at Anna and saw that she is a little bit surprised that Kyle's business here is her. ”Well, she's right beside you, you can ask her now or do you want me to leave you guys here?”

Though as much as he wanted to hear what kind of question Kyle has for his granddaughter, he does have some generosity inside him. He will let Kyle have his time with his granddaughter for as long as he won't hurt her.

Marcus was about to stand up and leave, but Kyle stopped him, ”I think you should stand here and listen as I'm about to open up a conversation with Anna since it is more or less connected to you too.”

As much as Kyle wanted to be alone with Anna, he still has to let Marcus know his real purpose on why he is truly here. Since he started to open up the case of his grandma Shine's death, he might as well find that person who did it and end it. Of course, he is not gonna do it alone, he will have Marcus Coleman to help him too.

Sensing that it's the matter about his late brother, Marcus stayed put on his seat. If Kyle wanted to talk about that case, then they should talk it out on his office. He wonders why Kyle is trying to involve his granddaughter into this. As far as he knows, the only people who knew that Kyle is working on this case are him, Elijah, and Kyle's friend.

Marcus doesn't want his granddaughter to be involved in something so troublesome. He knew that there is something his grandchildren are working on, and he did not ask about it because he knew that they will handle it since they are a child of a Coleman. There is already a case on Anna's plate, and he wouldn't let Kyle add more to it.

”Young man, if you are planning to involve my granddaughter into this, then you better shut that mouth of yours,” Marcus said in a threatening voice. He and Kyle already agreed that this matter won't be mentioned to anyone until he says so.

”I am not trying to involve your granddaughter...” Kyle glances at Anna and continued, ”She is already involved in this matter, in my guess for quite a while now.”
