Chapter 67 - Revenge 66: Hes Not Here (1/2)

”Drop-dead gorgeous indeed,” Stan said out of the blue and everyone in the room was shocked especially his wife and Anna.

Layla knows that her husband is only saying this without any other meaning. After all, she knew that her husband likes to appreciate beautiful things, whether its a living being or just a thing. What displeases Layla is the fact that her husband is not careful of what he says; sure it sounds like a compliment and all but her husband should have known that the person he just complimented is not the type of a person who likes to be complimented. The state Anna is in right now is in an awkward state and she might be thinking of running away.

Layla pinches the space between her brows and cough two times to get her husbands attention.

Hearing his wife's cough he immediately look at her with a worried look. ”Are you sick? Should I bring you to the hospital?” Layla smiled at the way how her husband is frantic about her well-being.

”No need. I just want you to shut your mouth.” Layla ruthlessly said to him. Even though she is pleased with him for being worried about her well-being that doesn't mean that their guest is not in an awkward state because of her husband. However, she is quite confused for someone like Anna; she should've blush or be bashful by what her husband just said but it seems like Anna doesn't like to be complimented. 'How peculiar.'

As Layla finishes her sentence Stan immediately closes his mouth. 'What did I do?' He asks himself.

Anna composed herself from being in an awkward state and smiled sweetly at two people in front of her. ”It's nice to see you again Mr. Robertson. Mrs. Robertson, it's nice to finally meet you in person.”

The way Anna said it it was full of elegance and politeness. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson was pleased by Anna's mannerism. Layla and Stan flashed a smile and so did Lannie; Lannie was about gesture Anna to sit down but her father suddenly pulls her near her mother. ”Where on earth is your brother?” He asked in a low tone that only Lannie and Layla could hear.

Now that Stan knows who is the girl that her daughter is mentioning, he suddenly got the feeling that maybe Lannie is right. Maybe his daughter is right about Anna and might be his future daughter-in-law, after all, he has been eyeing Anna to be the next hostess in the Robertson family in the future since the moment he saw Anna in her grandfather's birthday party.

Lannie frowned at the question her father just asked. ”Isn't that what I just asked to the both of you moments ago?” Sometimes Lannie thinks that her father is stupid sometimes. She just asked that same question to her mother and father and none of them knows the answer and yet now this father of hers just literary ask the same question. If she asked them then that means that she doesn't know the answer either. Why ask her?

”Brat...” Stan gritted his teeth as he said this he couldn't finish his sentence. Sometimes his daughter is too much for him to handle.
