The receptionist and many girls who had the same dreams as her, looked at this scene for the last time and sighed but still, they were slightly glad.

She was the 'rumored' fiancee of their CEO and though he didn't affirm it, he never said otherwise too, majority of people would take it in the way they preferred it and with her background and popularity, it was the latter one.

They were glad that they lost to her and not that Empress.

The Empress was too perfect for them and if they lost to her, they didn't know what to feel, as that would show that the 'man' only needed perfection in his life and they were not even deserving in his eyes.

But with Ruri, at least they have known her for years now and she was not like that Empress, who came out of nowhere and took over like a storm, she was polite and approachable, she was not arrogant like some other socialites and they knew that with her and her family background by his side, there won't be a problem for him in taking over the office. They made the right choice when supporting him and her.

Men and women alike, were rational beings but if someone was just too perfect, though they will be awed, the jealous nature will be dominant, they found a flaw in that perfect being and grouped together to hound it, there was no reason required, they just hated being in the same plane as a perfect species, they felt flawed and saw their weaknesses.

They were all well aware of her position but they didn't want her to take over, even though, she was the legitimate heir.

They couldn't help but be intimidated and suppressed by her, they didn't want their jobs to be in the mercy of her mood.

Each with their own thoughts saw their 'future lady boss' enter the exclusive elevator.

Once inside the elevator, the lady finally threw her perfect facade and showed the real state she was in.

she has been anxious and nervous.

She came here without telling him or prior notice to anyone, not even her parents because she found that 'she' has come back.

She was abroad for the last six months because of some of her runway projects and fashion shows.

She stayed in contact with 'him' but of course, she didn't have it in herself to ask about his work and family.

Just last week she found about this news of 'her' homecoming after 5 years abroad from a gossip during a charity party, her heart was in turmoil and she skipped many things to come here without notifying anyone except her manager.

Actually, she was a bit glad that he was not here and she could use the time to calm her restless heart.

Standing in that enclosed place, she remembered the whispers she heard back there.

She was well aware of the rumors but she never tried to correct them...

She sub-consciously tried to press the key for the tall floor, only for a system notification to flash.

She was not his 'fiancee' but his 'girlfriend' and even with their years of knowing each other, their relationship quota was at it's maximum and has stayed like this for a year now.

She didn't know 'her' importance in his life or how much she meant but as a woman, she felt terrified of 'her' presence in his life, in the life of the man she has been in love with since she laid her eyes on him for the very first time.

'She' was away for years and as far as she knew, he never tried to communicate with 'her' but deep down she had a feeling that 'everything was not as it seemed' and that she was a great threat to her...

Qin Meilin and Qin ZiXuan who were still unaware of her presence in the office were in a standstill, or more exactly, it was Qin ZiXuan who was glaring at the doctor and was applying silent pressure on him with a cold face and Qin Meilin who was rubbing her temples out of exhaustion due to the situation and if you looked at her closely, you would find that small nerves were already popping out in her temples.
