16 The Village Head (1/2)

It is indeed a bright sunny day at the Village of Oakwood as each of the villagers start their respective daily routine.

Most of them are farmers, tending to their crops as they engaged in agriculture, also taking great care of the livestock for the purpose of food or raw materials.

As such, it is of no exaggeration if one could call this Village a huge farm itself, where the people partake in farming as their source of sustenance for themselves and their family.

While they are busy with their honest livelihood, their eyes immediately diverted from their work upon seeing Eric, who in fact is currently together again with the Elven Mage in gossip, Gray Allister.

The two could be witnessed chatting with one another as Gray, curious about the village, inquired the Man of his hometown.

”There sure are a lot of farmers here.” The Elf questions as he looks around the Village's open surroundings that are filled with a fertile landscape, indeed suitable if one wishes to engage in farming. ”Is Agriculture usually the norm around here?”

”Yes Sir Gray.” Eric nods, smiling as he tells him about their lives in the Village. ”It is of no jest that our village depends on the bounties of the Nature Goddess, Lady Wynather herself as we nurture her very own creations, cultivating them to their full potential until such time that it is ripe for the taking, the fruits of our sincere labor and efforts.”

Gray merely nods in understanding at the man's explanation, displaying how devoted Eric is as apparent by his resolute way of speaking about the said Goddess.

Now that he thought about it, Deliah a while back also speaks about Sylvia that way, with the same amount of steadfast faith as her husband.

Gray could only chuckle sheepishly at how committed the pair of husband and wife is to their respective Goddesses.

Continuing their walk, Gray instantly took notice of the significant change of the villager's reactions upon seeing him.

Yesterday, the first time that he set foot in this village together with Eric guiding him, their reactions are not too favorable, being naturally suspicious of the Elf's motives as to why he came into their home without warning.

But today is another story.

Gray could now see the smiles and approval all over their faces as he passes by at them. Some even opted to show their admiration for the Elf by greeting him with the enthusiastic waving of their hands. The children most notably are tremendously ecstatic upon bearing witness of the kind Elf as they never really get to see other Races that much.

Gray simply answers all of them with a smile of his own as the praises and kind gestures are very new to him since he did not experience this sort of treatment back at his original world.

'Wow.' Gray thought as he marvels at the villagers who are all at awe for his unselfish act of saving Eric. 'Never would I thought that I'll get this sort of welcoming approach from the villagers around here. It seems that my actions or to be more precise, the quest yesterday has indeed caused a considerable amount of impact upon the villager's standing on me. I could get used to this hehe.'

Aside from their pleasing reactions, the Elf also took note of their Basic Status, a normal Villager being at a level of around 4 to 7 while the children are at 1 to 2.

Shortly after, Eric puts a halt on their tracks, making their stop as they seem to have finally arrived at their location, a building that is bigger compared to the houses. What's noteworthy about the place though is that there is a huge bell hanging within a steeple on top.

Remembering what Deliah mentions to him earlier regarding their topic about the bell, plus with how the building was built, Gray deduces no doubt, that this place is in fact, the Church.

”We're here, Sir Gray,” Eric tells Gray as they stood at the entrance of the premises.

Indeed as they went inside, Gray's deduction is definitely accurate as the interior of the place shows what a typical church would look like back in his original world, showing the Pews that are arranged in rows used for seating and kneeling during a religious liturgy.

But what's most remarkable about the place is that a huge silver sculpture depicting a beautiful woman is seen to display in its glorious elegance right in their very eyes. The sculpture if one looks closely is made solely out of stone. The craftsmanship no doubt is shown to be very intricate, mark by the precise details and curves being characterized by such piece of majestic art only crafted no doubt by a master sculptor.

”Ah, welcome you two.”

In front of the two, they are greeted courteously by an old bearded man with a stout body build. He is also observed to be clad in a white vestment with crystal designs that covers his black robes.

Old man

Lvl 11

Health: 631 / 631

Stamina: 312 / 312

Mana: 1560 / 1560

'A nameless man that is level 11.' Gray set his gaze meticulously at the old man's basic status. He of course already knows how the naming system works. Seeing the old man without a Class could only mean one thing.

'I see, so this is the format when one lacks the information of what the other party's Class is. He seems to possess a huge amount of Mana for his level like me. Not to mention, the way he dresses and the mere fact that we are inside a freaking church is a dead give-away. Yep, the guy is a Priest without a doubt.'

Because of the Elf's brilliant deduction, the class reveals itself for Gray, showing the word beside the old man's level as Gray grins at himself in triumph.
