Chapter 42 Pain And Growth (2/2)
As he was lapping at the water like some kind of animal, Laz started feeling the ice cold liquid pour down his throat as though putting out the fire inside him. The problem was, after a few sips, he realized his tongue was numb and he couldn't move it.
'Oh fuck!' Was the only thing he could come up with at this moment.
The ice cold water hit his stomach and began to clash with the boiling hot nectar. As Laz opened his mouth due to a feeling of drowning, he noticed steaming coming out from his mouth and noise. Had this been happening to someone else, he might of laughed when he saw it, but for the him right now, he could only feel worried.
His body was twisting and turning in pain as the two completely different sources of energy ripped back and forth throughout his body, like they were staking a claim on him. As they penetrated every inch of his being, they even started to invade his bones.
Laz had never imagined what it would feel like to have someone start drilling holes in his bones, but if he had to make a comparison, it would still be less painful for that to happen than this. His entire skeleton felt like it was expanding and vibrating.
It's important to note that when you are younger, your bones are more rubbery and haven't hardened yet. As Laz wasn't done with his natural growth, he still had a way to go before he hit his maximum height. But at this moment, his bones started to grow themselves and stretch his skin and muscles that were being constantly energized by the combined force of the nectar heat and ice water.
The pain washed over him again and again while his body was going through a rebirth of sorts. He skin became firm and supple, his hair grew as though it were alive as other changes began to occur.
He muscles and joints were strengthened, he ligaments became far more flexible, he nails and teeth became harder and stronger. His entire being was burned down, cooled and built back up.
The waves of energy kept pounding him over and over again until they finally started to subside. Laz's entire body that had been taunt and stiff the entire time finally relaxed like a man who had just climaxed. He only had the strength to roll over and look up. The light from the flower was still illuminating the entire clearing while Laz's body was being hit by the little green flecks of light that were coming off of it.
Laz had no feeling at the moment other than one of complete exhaustion, but he couldn't even move, much less try to get up and go home.
As he lay there and his mind came back to him a little, he noticed he was in the middle of both the flower and the pond. Looking upwards, he could see the green light flecks floating in the air and occasionally coming into contact with the icy blue flumes coming off of the pond. Whenever they got close together, they started swirling around each other as though they were dancing in a circle.
They gathered together, pulling and pushing each other apart. The light green and icy blue started weaving around each other in a figure eight pattern of dance, going faster and faster until they gained enough energy to break apart and shoot off into the distance. Although the sight was incredible to watch, it wasn't as bright as the light of the flower so it wasn't as noticeable.
As Laz lay there, he watch the same action happen over and over again and being unable to move, he could to nothing but watch it happen. At some point, when his eye lids got heavy, he closed his eyes and could still see the swills of energy constantly circling each other in their intricate dance pattern. He was watched it so much, he was able to visualize it in his sleep.
At some point, he drifted off into a half awake, half asleep state while still seeing the energy flow in his mind. The bits of energy from both the flower and the pond that had been flowing together before dispersing start to flow towards Laz instead.
As the bits of energy entered his body, they started to repair the bits inside of him that had been ravaged by the clash of energies from before. They mended his weakened blood vessels and torn bits of muscle. Although these injuries wouldn't have been visible or impacted him, normally, they would have caused damage later on in life.
If someone had been standing over Laz and watching him at this moment, they would have seen parts of his body glow blue and green while rotating in a constant circle, matching the pattern of the flower's and water's energy flow.
