174 My aunt wants to kill me II (2/2)
Ellie rolled on the ground with her face full of pain. She was dreading the fact that this wasn't the real Evlin as she really wished she could use this chance to mirror her healing ability right now to make her face stop hurting.
”Ugh... So this is what getting punched in the face feels like... Ugh! It hurts a lot more than I imagined...” Ellie mumbled as she tried to hold her cheek.
The girl saw her aunt coming at her one more time and tried to activate her power to see the future to predict how to respond. She saw Evlin aiming her crossbow at her at point-blank and blasting her all the way to God-knows-where.
Ellie decided to test her luck and raised her arms to activate the ability she got from Mia, and just as her vision predicted, Evlin released a blast of raw magic energy once she was a couple of steps away from her niece.
The two powers collided, Ellie using her spell breaker and Evlin using her giant magic bullet. Ellie assumed she would be able to devour the bullet with no trouble, but the power was much bigger than she imagined and she ended up being pushed back and getting knocked against a tree.
”Guahhh!!!” she screamed.
”Young miss!!” yelled a voice coming from afar. Ellie stood up and noticed Detra running as fast as she could towards her.
”Detra!! I need help!!”
The knight raised its blade and began to approach Ellie as well. Evlin's memory could be seen doing the same. At this moment everyone was running as fast as they could to reach Ellie, making her feel like she was in the center of a giant ”Y”.
Ellie raised another wall of diamonds to keep herself and Detra away from the two memory warriors right before Evlin tried to smack her with her gauntlet and ending up punching the wall instead.
The impact made the ground shake which caused Ellie to flinch nervously a bit.
”Young miss!!” the woman whispered while analyzing Ellie's state.
”Detra!! Thank God you're here!! Tell me how to defeat these two!!” Ellie begged while hearing the sound of fists smacking her diamonds over and over again.
”What do you mean?? This is just your aunt when she was just starting out as a mage! She shouldn't be that hard to deal with...”
”No, you don't get it!! This isn't just my aunt! Her spells are much more powerful than I imagined! I can't block any of her bullets without being pushed back! Something is wrong!”
Detra covered her lips, ”This is bad... The forest must be giving the memories a bigger supply of magic power... At this rate...”
Before Detra could finish, the wall finally began to crack and the figure of Evlin and her knight ally appeared looking straight at the two ladies.
Ellie activated her future sight and moved to block an incoming sword from the knight with her arms turned into blades, but while she was busy handling the knight, Evlin came closer and blasted the girl with an energy bullet in the stomach.
”Aaaghh!!!”
”Young Miss!!”
The knight moved to strike again and Ellie tried to make a shield with her diamonds, but Evlin acted faster and used her earth magic to lock both of the girl's arms to the ground with extremely heavy handcuffs made of rocks.
Ellie tried to free herself but Evlin used this chance to lock the girl's feet as well. She was now completely unable to move.
The warrior kept approaching with his blade aimed at Ellie's heart. The girl was about to panic when her future sight kicked in again and she saw how to get out of this situation.
The girl glared at the incoming sword, took a deep breath, and using all the remaining stamina she had left, mirrored the power from her aunt's griffin and released the biggest howl she could muster.
”ROAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!”
The knight dropped his weapon to cover his ears from the absurdly loud noise, and while continuing to release her cry, Ellie absorbed the earth magic from her aunt's handcuffs to make them go away, grabbed the dropped sword, and slashed the man with one swing, making it vanish completely.
”Coff! Coff!! Coff!” Ellie began to choke from screaming so much and dropped on her knees after defeating the second memory knight.
From the state of her throat, she guessed she wouldn't be able to use that cry again anytime soon.
”Two down...” she whispered, trying to not speak too much.
She raised herself again and saw her final opponent waiting for her. Her aunt Evlin wearing a pair of gauntlets and glaring coldly at the girl.
”One to go...”
